Otherwise, They'll Say "Here's Why"
The Lord God
and Moses
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. Now if thou shalt kill all this people as as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.-Numbers 14:11-16***The Israelites knew that the Lord God appeared to their ancestor Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and told him to go out from his country and kin in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, and come into the land he would be shown. The Israelites knew that the Lord God promised to give Canaan, land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham's descendants and childless Abraham. The Israelites knew that the Lord God assured Abraham that a son would be born to Abraham, and that Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and maidservant Hagar 14 years before Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and his 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai). The Israelites knew that Isaac was 40 years old when he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece, and knew that fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah, and knew that Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite, and knew that in Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). The Israelites knew that Reuben, Simeon,Levi,Judah,Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah, and Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah, and Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah, and Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. The Israelites knew that during Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions, and Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. The Israelites knew that Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt, and the merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. The Israelites knew that Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, and Potiphar put Joseph in prison, and over 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command. The Israelites knew that after the 2nd time Joseph's brothers were in Egypt to buy corn (grain) during a famine, Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move with their families, including Jacob, to Egypt. The Israelites knew that sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. The Israelites knew that Miriam,Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed, and Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, and that the Israelites believed Moses when he said the Lord God told him to lead them away from Egypt. The Israelites knew about the 10 plagues that Lord God sent throughout Egypt, and knew about the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, and knew that the Lord God caused the Red Sea to part, and knew that the Israelites, and those with them, walked across its dry bed, and the Egyptians drowned. The Israelites heard themselves crave food and water in the desert wilderness, and taste sweet water that was previously bitter, and watched the Lord God sendquail and manna for them to eat, and provide water from a rock for them to drink. The Israelites experienced victory against the Amalekites, and saw the glory of the Lord God. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God speak to Moses and heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. The Israelites saw the Lord God lead them even after they sacrificed to and worshiped a golden calf, and the Israelites watched themselves make a tabernacle and sacred items using the gold, silver, gems, and fabrics that they had asked for and received before being led away from Egypt. Each time the Israelites saw Moses go to the tent of meeting wherein the Lord God spoke to Moses face to face, the Israelites stood and worshiped. Amid all that the Israelites knew, saw and heard, and even after the Israelites witnessed the consequence of previous complainers, the Israelites complained again, and wanted to cause a deadly pelting with stones. Over 1,400 years after Moses sent 12 spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God and a request made by the Israelites, and 10 of the spies returned with a frightening report, and spies Caleb and Joshua, spoke of victory awaiting them according to the will of the Lord God, Johnthe Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ was born, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave Abraham. During the 12th year after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Joseph and Mary found Jesus in Jerusalem, in the temple of the Lord, listening, asking, understanding, and answering. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jesus spoke to a multitude about belief, and the multitude spoke to Jesus about showing a sign and believing. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by JudasIscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, and resurrected. Jesus appeared to over 500 people, including his disciples and apostles, and when the disciples and apostles were together, Jesus appeared and told them about the signs that would follow believers. On the 40th day after Jesus was resurrected, Jesus was returned to heaven.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 9:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 1:1-10:22, 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4
