...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Duration of the Situation

And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly. And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years. And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt: But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said. And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head.-Genesis 47:27-31***Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah.  Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and his 2nd and favorite wife Rachel. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt, and the brothers led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a beast. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. Joseph became the top servant in Potiphar's home and served Potiphar until the false claim of Potiphar's wife led Potiphar to imprison Joseph. In prison, Joseph explained the meaning of at least 2 dreams. Less than 3 years thereafter, when Joseph was 30 years old, Joseph was taken from prison, shaved, dressed, and was brought before Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, to explain the meaning of 2 dreams. Immediately after Joseph explained the dreams and spoke advisedly to Pharaoh, Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph to be second-in-command in Egypt. Pharaoh gave Joseph a different name and Asenath, the daughter of an Egyptian priest, for a wife. Seven years after Joseph became second-in-command, a worldwide famine occurred, and Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, and Zebulun came to Egypt from Canaan and spoke and interacted with Joseph, without recognizing Joseph. Before Joseph allowed his brothers to return to Jacob and their families, Joseph accused his brothers of being spies. Joseph demanded that they bring Benjamin to Egypt, and Joseph imprisoned his brothers for 3 days. Afterwards, Joseph kept Simeon imprisoned, and gave his other brothers corn, provisions and the money they brought with them to Egypt, and the brothers returned to Canaan. While the famine continued, Joseph's brothers returned to Egypt with Benjamin. Joseph spoke and interacted with his brothers again and set a trap. When Joseph's brothers were returning to Canaan, Joseph sent his steward to bring his brothers back, and Joseph spoke and interacted with his brothers, identified himself to them, and explained the will of the Lord God to his brothers. Joseph gave his brothers words to speak to Jacob, and told his brothers to bring Jacob and their families and possessions to Egypt and enjoy the benefits he was able to provide. Moreover, Pharaoh spoke similar words and provided for the journey. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jacob began living in Egypt when he was 130 years old and lived in Egypt until he died 17 years after leaving Canaan, the Promised Land. Joseph and his brothers buried  Jacob's body in Canaan, in the cave on land bought by Jacob's grandfather Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) after Abraham's wife Sarah (Sarai), Jacob's grandmother, died. Sarah, Abraham, their son Isaac, Isaac's wife Rebekah, and Leah were also buried in the cave. Isaac and Rebekah were Jacob's parents. Rachel was buried near Bethlehem  (Ephrath). Over 1,600 years after Joseph and his siblings died in Egypt and their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, into the tribe of Judah, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Less than 33 1/2 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle. Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb outside of Jerusalem, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
