The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance. Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them. And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. The firstfuit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him. For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.-Deuteronomy 18:1-5***Gershon, Kohath and Merari were born to Levi. Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to Adam and Eve.  Adam was the 1st man. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God created Adam. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Abraham, Sarah and their nephew Lot journeyed with their servants, animals and possessions to Canaan after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran. The Lord God promised to give Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece.  Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying with his family, servants and possessions to Canaan.  When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph, the 1st son born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, was second-in-command. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Jacob and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and Levi, Joseph and their siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi, and the family of Levi's son Kohath. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the tabernacle and sacred items that the Israelites were to make. The Lord God told Moses that only Aaron and Aaron's son and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests.  Meanwhile, the Israelites were demanding that Aaron make gods to go before them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their golden earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf, and Aaron made an altar. Before the Lord God sent Moses back to the Israelites, the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments. When Moses saw the golden calf and the dancing, Moses threw the stone tablets to the ground and burned and ground the golden calf. Moses questioned Aaron, and proclaimed a question, and the Levites, identifying themselves as being for the Lord God. Moses spoke the words of the Lord God to the Levites, and the Levites killed approximately 3,000 men. Shortly thereafter, Moses prepared 2 stone tablets and a wooden ark, and took the tablets and ark upon Mount Sinai, according to the commands of the Lord God, and was upon Mount Sinai 40 more days and nights with the Lord God. The Lord God wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets, and gave the tablets to Moses, and Moses put the tablets in the wooden ark and returned to the Israelites. After the tabernacle, and the gold covered ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the sacred items were made, Moses put the 2 stone tablets in the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and put the ark of the covenant and every sacred item in its proper place in the tabernacle. The Lord God told Moses that only the Levites could attend to and carry the tabernacle and sacred items, and camp around the tabernacle, and assist the priests with their duties at the tabernacle, and the Lord God described to Moses the tabernacle duties for the Kohathites, Gershonites and Merarites. The Lord God told Moses that after the priests covered the ark of the covenant and other sacred items, the Kohathites were to carry the ark of the covenant by its gold covered poles. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Shortly thereafter, Moses began speaking his last messages to the Israelites, and wrote the law, and gave the Book of the Law to the priests. The Lord God spoke to Moses and commanded Moses to write the words of a song and teach the song to the Israelites. Moses wrote the song, and taught the song, with Joshua, his aide and successor, to the Israelites. Moses blessed the Israelites and went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. Sometime before John the Baptist proclaimed the identity of Jesus, the Israelites sent priests and Levites to ask John the Baptist to identify himself. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Two Sons

Eli, his sons,

and a prophet of the Lord God:

Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD's people to transgress. If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them. And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men. And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house? And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel? Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Approximately 1,000 years after David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. My Firstborn Now

The Lord God, and Moses,

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him. And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle. And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle. And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel. And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.-Exodus 11:4-5...But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.-Exodus 11:7

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.-Exodus 13:1-2...And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee, That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's. And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.-Exodus 13:11-13

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,-Exodus 40:1...And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.-Exodus 40:13-15

For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,-Numbers 1:48...But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.-Numbers 1:50

And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD. Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.-Numbers 8:13-14

And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the  son of Heli,-Luke 3:23...Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.-Luke 3:38

Sounds Like a Plan

Moses, the son born to Amram and Jochebed, and younger

 brother of Miriam and Aaron, is born into the tribe

 of Levi,the family of Israelites (Hebrews) descended

 from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai),

Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Leah,

and Jacob and Leah's third born son Levi:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.-Exodus 2:1-4

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the Babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.-Exodus 2:5-10
                          

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow? And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known. Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.-Exodus 2:11-15

Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day? And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock. And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.-Exodus 2:16-22

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.-Exodus 2:23-25
