The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. When Isaac was old and thought he was dying, Rebekah led Jacob to deceive Isaac and cheat Esau. And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac: And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command. After the 2nd time that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt during a famine to buy corn (grain), Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move to Egypt with their families, including Jacob. Pharaoh heard about the reunion and expressed his generosity and hospitality. In Beersheba, Jacob offered sacrifices to the Lord God, and the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Jacob. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped and Moses burned and ground. During the 40-year journey to Canaan,  the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. While in Kadesh, Moses sought and was denied permission from the king of Edom to go through the Edomite region. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. The Lord God caused conflict to occur between Solomon and Hadad, an Edomite royal.  Rehoboam, a son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon.  Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Rehoboam's great-great-grandson Jehoram (Joram) was the 5th king, and Joram's great-grandson Amaziah was the 8th king, and Amaziah's great-grandson Ahaz was the 11th king to rule Judah, and when they reigned, Jehoram, Amaziah, and Ahaz battled the Edomites. Hezekiah, the son born to Ahaz and Abi (Abijah), was the 12th king to rule Judah, and King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites captive. During the 9th year of the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Hezekiah was in the 6th year of his 29-year reign when Samaria was conquered. Hezekiah's great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah) the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. The Lord God revealed to Obadiah the prophet the behavior that the Edomites exhibited towards captured Israelites and Israelites who were trying to escape. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.-Genesis 24:10-16 ***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, when the Lord God appeared to him and told Abraham to go out from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed away from Ur with his wife Sarah (Sarai),  their father Terah and nephew Lot and began living in Haran, in northern Mesopotamia. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, 75-year-old Abraham, 65-year-old Sarah and Lot journeyed with their servants and possession to Canaan, land inhabited by idolaters that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham's descendants and childless Abraham. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Abraham and Sarah's brother Nahor (Nachor) lived in Haran with his wife Milcah, Lot's sister. Eight sons, including Bethuel the Syrian (Aramean), were born to Nahor and Milcah. Laban the Syrian (Aramean) and Rebekah were born to Bethuel. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. Isaac  was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Sometime after 127-year-old Sarah died, Abraham wanted to arrange Isaac's marriage. Thus, Abraham sent his most trusted servant to family members in northern Mesopotamia, with the servant received Abraham's assurance that the Lord God would send his angel beforehand and the journey would be successful. When the servant reached his destination, the servant prayed and proposed a plan of circumstances to the Lord God. In Haran, Bethuel and Laban listened to Abraham's servant, and marital arrangements were made, and Rebekah agreed to go with the servant to Canaan and become Isaac's wife. During the 20th year of their marriage, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. After Rebekah prompted Jacob to deceive Isaac, and cheat Esau, and learned that Esau planned to kill Jacob, she spoke words to Isaac that led him to send Jacob from their home in Beersheba, Canaan, to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran. During Jacob's 7th year in Haran, he was married to Laban's daughters Leah and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Napgtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-36:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4
