And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire. And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites. And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses, and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped. Before Moses returned to the Israelites, the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord God told Moses about the golden calf. When Moses saw the golden calf, and the actions of the Israelites, he threw down the 2 stone tablets, and questioned Aaron, and asked the congregation a question. The Levites, the Israelites in the tribe of Levi, gathered alongside Moses and killed approximately 3,000 of their idol worshiping brethren, according to the command of the Lord God. Before the Israelites were led away from the Sinai region, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the Levites, and the Lord God described the duties that the 3 Levitical families, the descendants of Levi's sons Gershon, Kohath and Merari, were to perform as assistants to the priests at the tabernacle. Moses and his family were Kohathites. The priests were responsible for covering the ark, and the Kohathites were responsible for carrying the ark, by its poles, to each location. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-yer-old Aaron the high priest died. Near Canaan, the Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and the tribe of Gad asked to be given some of the land recently conquered. Moses spoke to the Reubenites and Gadites, and after they agreed to the terms presented, Moses gave the Reubenites, Gadites and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh, the land requested. The Gileadites were from the tribe of Manasseh  and the family of Manasseh's grandson Gilead. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds. Gideon, from the tribe of Manasseh, was the judge leading the Israelites when the Ephraimites, the Israelites in the tribe of Ephraim, asked why they hadn't been invited to fight alongside Gideon in the beginning of his battle against the Midianites, the descendants of Abraham and his 2nd wife Keturah and their son Midian. Jephthah, a Gileadite, was the judge leading the Israelites when the Ephraimites asked why they hadn't been invited to fight alongside Jephthah in a battle against the Ammonites. Over 1,000 years after Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin to reign, and Saul became the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. The Israelites, led by Joshua, destroyed Jericho, and Ai, and defeated King Adoni-zedek, King Jabin, their armies and allies, and conquered more kindoms and kings, before Joshua, Eleazer and the specified tribal leaders  began allotting each tribe its portion of the Promised Land. After 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds. Approximately 1,100 after Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge, was born into the tribe of Levi to Elkanah and Hananah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. Saul was the husband of at least 1 wife, Ahinoam, and was in a relationship with at least 1 concubine, Rizpah, and was the father of at least 8 children, Jonathan, Malchishua and Abinabad (Ishui?), Ishbosheth (Eshbaal), Armoni, Mephibosheth, Merab, and Michal. When Saul was at Gibeah of God (the hill of God), the Spirit of God came upon him. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Samuel told Saul that the Lord God rejected Saul from being king and had torn the kingdom from Saul. David was from the tribe of Judah, and lived in Bethlehem, and was a man after God's own heart. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David to reign as king, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David, and the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. After Saul heard about David's skills, strength, appearance, and favor with the Lord God, he commanded that David's father Jesse sent David to him, and David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. Amid the Valley of Elah, David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine. David and Jonathan made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and became afraid of David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Michal was married to David and helped David escape from their home. David stayed in the wilderness and woods and was married to Abigail the widow and Ahinoam from Jezreel. After the Philistines killed Jonathan, Malchishua and Abinadab, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's cousin and army commander Abner placed Ishbosheth as king over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David began to rule over all of the Israelite tribes. At least 900 years after Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and 70-year-old David died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. The area in the Promised Land allotted to the tribe

of Ephraim and the tribe of Manasseh, the Israelites

descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah

(Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and

Rachel, Joseph and Asenath, and Joseph and

Asenath's sons Manasseh and Ephraim, whom

Jacob proclaimed to be his own sons:

And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel, And goeth out from Bethel to Luz, and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth, And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the goings out thereof are at the sea.
