Moses
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp; and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour. And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.-Exodus 32:25-29***At least 3 months after Moses and his older brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites into the desert wilderness of Sinai, according to the commands of the Lord God. Amid the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. Moses, Aaron, and Aaron's son Nadab and Abihu, and 72 Israelite elders went upon Mount Sinai, according to the command of the Lord God. Afterwards, Moses and Joshua were upon Mount Sinai, and Moses was in the presence of the Lord God 40 days and nights. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped. Before the Lord God sent Moses back to the Israelites, the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments. When Joshua heard the noise among the Israelites, he thought they were in the midst of a battle. Moses knew that the Israelites were involved in idolatry, and when Moses the golden calf and the actions of the Israelites, he threw down the stone tablets and burned and ground the golden calf. Aaron tried to downplay his participation, while the Levites, the Israelites in the tribe of Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron, Moses and their older sister Miriam, were on the side of the Lord God. Before the Israelites left the Sinai region, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the Levites, and gave Moses commands for the 3 Levitical families, the Kohathites, the Gershonites, and the Merarites, from the sons Kohath, Gershon and Merari born to Levi. Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and 90-year old Sarah (Sarai). During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. After the Lord God spoke to Joshua, and Joshua sent 2 spies to Canaan, and Rahab hid the spies, and the spies returned, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt: and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood; or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; for the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: and the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.-Joshua 24:14-18***Joshua was an Israelite from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Adam and Eve, their son Seth, Seth's great-great-great-grandson Enoch, Enoch's great-grandson Noah the ark builder, Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Adam was the 1st man. The Lord God created Adam. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Before 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, he spoke to the Israelites in Shechem and testified about the goodness of the Lord God and the history of Abraham, and reminded the Israelites about their forefathers' beginnings. After the Israelites agreed to follow the Lord God, Joshua made a covenant and recorded laws and decrees in the Book of the Law of God. After Joshua's death, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds. Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. At least 950 years after Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign, and 70-year-old David died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
