The Lord God, and King Balak, and Balaam

And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho. And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel. And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time. He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they  cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me: Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed. And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak. And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam. And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee? And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying, Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out. And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed. And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.-Numbers 22:1-13***The Amorites and Canaanites descended from Noah the ark builder, and Noah's son Ham, and Ham's son Canaan. The Moabites descended from Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's son Haran, Haran's son Lot, Lot's oldest daughter, and Lot and his oldest daughter's son Moab. Shem's son Aram was the forefather of the Arameans. The Israelites descended from Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). The Midianites descended from Abraham and his 2nd wife Keturah and their son Midian. The Amalekites descended from Jacob's older fraternal twin brother Esau (Edom) and his wife Adah, their son Eliphaz and his concubine Timna, and Eliphaz and Timna's son Amalek. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The elders believed the words of the Lord God spoken by Aaron. Pharaoh did not believe and he made work for the Israeites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord give made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord Gods gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. In Rephidim, the Israelites defeated the Amalekites. The Israelites were in the desert wilderness of Paran when some of them disobeyed the command of the Lord God, and were driven back by the Amalekites and Canaanites. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. The Canaanite ruler of Arad attacked and captured some Israelites, and the Israelites made a vow to the Lord God. The Lord God delivered up the Canaanites, and the Israelites destroyed the Canaanite king and his cities. After the Israelites sent a message to King Sihon, an Amorite ruler, Sihon united his people and attacked the Israelites. The Israelitess killed Sihon and the Amorites in his kingdom, and cast out the Amorites in Jazer (Jaazer). The Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and the tribe of Gad made a request, and they agreed to the terms presented, and Moses gave the tribe of Reuben, and the tribe of Gad and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh the land recently conquered. At Edrei, when King Og, the gigantic ruler of Bashan, came forth to battle the Israelites, the Lord God gave Moses a command, and the Israelites killed Og and the Amorites in his kingdom, and conquered their land. Approximately 1,400 years after King Balak, a Moabite ruler, sent 2 separate groups of messengers to Balaam the soothsayer (diviner), Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;-Revelation 2:12...But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stunmblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.-Revelation 2:14

He Said That the Lord God Said

Events that occurred after the Israelites defeated

Amorite rulers King Sihon and King Og,

and after King Balak, ruler of the Moabites,

sent for Balaam the soothsayer, 

and the Lord God spoke to Balaam,

and the angel of the Lord spoke to

 Balaam, and Balaam went to Balak:

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams. And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram. And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.-Numbers 23:1-3 

And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram. And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.-Numbers 23:4-6

And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn. Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination again Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.-Numbers 23:17-24

And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all. But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do? And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence. And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon. And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command. After the 2nd time that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt during a famine to buy corn (grain), Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move with their families, including, Jacob, to Egypt. Moreover, Pharaoh expressed his generosity and hospitality. During the journey, the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Jacob. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved  in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, with the Israelites carrying an abundance of valuable goods that they asked for and were given by the Egyptians. The Israelites praised the Lord God, and grumbled  multiple times, and witnessed multiple miracles, and defeated the Amalekites. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle and sacred items that the Israelites were to make. Meanwhile, the Israelites told Aaron to make gods to lead them, and Aaron asked for and received gold earrings from the Israelites and made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped. In the desert wilderness of Paran, Moses sent 12 spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God and the request of the Israelites. The Israelites were frightened and spoke of returning to Egypt after hearing 10 of the spies describe the  gigantic inhabitants living in Canaan. During the 40-year journey to the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. The Israelites destroyed the Canaanite ruler of Arad and the Canaanites throughout his kingdom after some Israelites were captured and the Israelites made a vow to the Lord God. In Jahaz, the Israelites killed King Sihon and all the Amorites throughout his kingdom, and in Jazer (Jaazer), Israelites expelled all the Amorites from the land. at Edrei, the Israelites killed gigantic King Og and all the Amorites in his kingdom.  When Moabite King Balak knew that the Israelites were in his midst, he convinced the Midianites to unite with him and send an envoy to Balaam and have Balaam come to them and curse the Israelites. The Moabites were descendants of Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot and Lot's oldest daughter and their son Moab. The Midianites descended from Abraham and his 2nd wife Keturah and their son Midian. Balaam told the messengers to spend the night and said that whatever he heard from the Lord God he would tell them. After the Lord God told Balaam not to go with the messengers and not to curse the blessed Israelites, Balaam sent the messengers away. Balak sent a more esteemed envoy to Balaam, and Balaam gave the new messengers a reply and told them to spend the night. The Lord God spoke to Balaam and gave Balaam specific instructions. Balaam disobeyed the words of the Lord God, and as Balaam was traveling with his own servants and the envoy, an incident occurred that involved the angel of the Lord God, and Balaam's donkey and Balaam. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo,  the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Hear ye not what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?-Micah 6:1-8***The Lord God gave Micah the prophet a message of warning, promise, and reasoning to proclaim to the Israelites, the descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Abraham and some of Abraham's descendants who lived before Micah was born spoke to the Lord God when they presented the Lord God with reasons against taking destructive action. Abraham reasoned with the Lord God about the destruction of any righteous people living in Sodom.  Moses and Moses' older brother Aaron reasoned with the Lord God about the possible destruction of the Israelites after a group of Israelites led by Korah, Dathan and Abiram, rebelled against Moses, Aaron and the Lord God. King Jotham was the 10th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Jotham's son Ahaz was the 11th king. Hezekiah, the son born to Ahaz and Abi (Abijah) was the 12th king to rule Judah. When Jotham, Ahaz and Hezkiah reigned, Micah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. King Hoshea, the 19th to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land, was in the 3rd year of his reign when Hezekiah began to rule Judah. During the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, the royal city, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites.  After the Assyrians entered Judah and presented Hezekiah with threatening messages about their might and their perceptions of the Lord God, Hezekiah prayed to the Lord God and reasoned with the Lord God. Hezekiah's great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim  (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city, and King Nebuchadnezzar, rule of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelties began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
