...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

His Glory Was Right Before Me

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.-John 1:6-14***Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth) were Israelites from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah,  Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. The angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah and told him that a son would be born to Zechariah and Elizabeth. Gabriel told Zechariah to name the child John, and Gabriel told Zechariah the purpose of the birth and life of John. When Elizabeth was in the 6th month of pregnancy, the Lord God sent Gabriel to speak to Mary, an Israelite, a virgin and a close relative of Elizabeth. Gabriel told Mary about the son to be conceived of the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) in Mary's womb. Gabriel told Mary the child was to be named Jesus,  and shall be called the Son of the Most High. After Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph, an Israelite from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Joseph was pledged to wed Mary. The angel told Joseph to continue with his marital plans and said the child in Mary's womb was conceived of the Holy Spirit. Joseph was told to name the child Jesus, and Joseph was told that Jesus will save people from their sins. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist was born to Zechariah and Elizabeth, and Jesus the Christ was born to Joseph and Mary when Mary was a virgin, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Many people did not believe Jesus to be the Christ of God, and some, including John the Baptist, sent others to question Jesus.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, Isaiah 7:1-25, 9:1-21, 40:1-8, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 1 John
