...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Love and Marriage

King Rehoboam

And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse; Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham. And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith. And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons and threescore daughters.) And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king. And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.-2 Chronicles 11:18-23***King Saul was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin and was the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land. Saul was the husband of at least 1 wife, Ahinoam, and at least 4 sons, Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab (Ishui?), and Ishbosheth (Eshbaal), and at least 2 daughters, Merah and Michal, were born to Saul. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, to anoint David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king. Shortly thereafter, David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul, and David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine. David and Jonathan made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and became afraid of David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Michal was married to David and helped David escape from their home. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that during David's years on the run, Michal was married to Palti (Phalti/Paltiel/Phaltiel) and David was married to Abigail and Ahinoam. After the Philisltines killed Jonathan, Malchishua and Abinadab, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. In Hebron, David was married to more women, and at least 1 son was born within the union of David and each wife. Ishbosheth ruled over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David began to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. David was married to more women, and was in relationships with more concubines, and more children were born to David, his wives and concubines. Solomon was the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba. Before 70-year-old David died, Nathan the prophet spoke to Bathsheba about Solomon and the kingship, and Nathan sent Bathsheba to speak to David. David sent Nathan, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the warrior, and other Israelites to Solomon, and Zadok anointed Solomon, and the Israelites proclaimed Solomon as their king. Solomon was married to 700 idol worshiping princesses during his 40-year reign and was in relationships with 300 concubines. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, and Solomon's daughters Taphath and Basmath (Basemath), are the only children born to Solomon specifically identified by name in the Holy Bible (KJV). Naamah was an Ammonite, descended from Abraham's nephew Lot and Lot's youngest daughter, and the son, Ben-ammi, born to Lot and his daughter. After Solomon died, Rehoboam became the 4th  king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Rehoboam's wife Mahalath was David's granddaughter. Rehoboam's wife Maachah is widely regarded to have been David's great-granddaughter. David's great-granddaughter Maachah was the granddaughter of Absalom, the son born to David and Maacah (Maachah), a princess from Geshur, in Syria (Aram). Over 900 years after Rehoboam and Maachah's son Abijam (Abijah) became the 2nd king to rule Judah, and Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative  Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. In Judea, Jesus spoke about a man and wife and their flesh.-Genesis 11;26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 17:14-20, 31:1-30, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-15:34, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-14:1, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Reference Scriptures:
When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me; Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.-Deuteronomy 17:14-15...Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.-Deuteronomy 17:17

Our Advice You'll Like

And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me. Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him. Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep. And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul. And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.-1 Samuel 16:11-23***Samuel, Saul and David were Israelites born in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Samuel was a priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Saul was from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. David was from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. After Samuel's mother Hannah  weaned Samuel, she took Samuel to live at the tabernacle complex in Shiloh, according to the vow Hannah made to the Lord God before Samuel was conceived. Samuel eventually established his home in Ramah (Ramathaim Zophim), his family's hometown. Saul and his family were from Gibeah in Benjamin, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin. David and his family were from Bethlehem in Judah, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Judah. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them. Samuel prayed to the Lord God, and heard from the Lord God, and Samuel spoke to the Israelites, and spoke to the Lord God, and obeyed the commands of the Lord God, and anointed Saul to reign as king. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. The Lord God told Samuel that he regretted setting Saul as king and rejected Saul from being king. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, a man after God's own heart, to reign as king. After David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine from Gath, David and Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant. David was victorious against enemies, and the Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal was married to David, and helped David escape from their home, and David immediately went to Samuel. After Samuel died, the Israelites buried Samuel's body in Ramah. After the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui?), and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, Israelite men from Jabesh Gilead went to Beth Shean (Shan), in the Philistine region, and retrieved the beheaded and mutilated bodies of Saul and his sons, and buried the bones in Jabesh Gilead. Notably, Jabesh Gilead was on the other side of the Jordan River, in the portion of land that Moses had allotted to 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh, the Israelites descended from Jacob and Rachel's firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's firstborn son Manasseh, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Sometime after Israelites from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign as king only over the tribe of Judah, David sent a message of blessing to the men in Jabesh Gilead. Meanwhile, Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) ruled over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David began to rule over all of the Israelite tribes. During his reign, David retrieved the bones of Saul and Jonathan from Jabesh Gilead and buried the bones in Zelah, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin. Before 70-year-old David died and his body was buried in the City of David, Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, into the tribe of Judah, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

The words spoken by King David to his fellow
Israelites before Solomon, the 2nd child born
to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king
to rule over all of the Israelites in the
Promised Land, and 70-year-old David died:

And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem. Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood. Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever:  for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day. Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.-1 Chronicles 28:1-10

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.-1 Chronicles 17:1

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God: But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight. Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days. He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.-1 Chronicles 22:7-10

Relatively Speaking

The descendants of Hezron,
an Israelite from the tribe of Judah:

The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai. And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah; And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz, And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse, And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third, Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, Ozem the sixth, David the seventh: Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three. And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite. And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon. And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur. And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel. And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub. And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead. And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead. And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa
. And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah. Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.-1 Chronicles 2:9-27

-Hezron was born to Pharez, and Pharez was a twin son born to Judah and Tamar. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai).

-Nahshon (Naashon) was a chief leader among the Israelites in the tribe of Judah. Nahshon was not a prince, however, because Nahshon lived at least 350 years before the Israelites demanded to be led by a king in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants.

-Boaz was a wealthy Israelite and a relative of Naomi. Naomi was the mother-in-law of Ruth, a Moabite. Ruth was married to Naomi's son Mahlon until Mahlon died. The Moabites were descendants of Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lotand Lot's oldest daughter, and the son, Moab, born to Lot and his daughter.

-Jesse was the father of at least 2 daughters, Zeruiah and Abigail, and 8 sons, including Eliab, Abinadab, Shammah (Shimma/Shimea), Nethaneel, Raddai, Ozem, and David.

-Abishai was David's nephew, 1 of at least 3 sons born to David's sister Zeruiah. Abishai was a warrior and fought alongside David before and after David became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. During David's last fight on the battlefield, Abishai killed Ishbi-benob, a gigantic Philistine, when Ishbi-benob was preparing to kill David.

-Joab was David's nephew, and the brother of Abishai and Asahel. Joab was a warrior and fought alongside David before and after David reigned as king. Joab won a challenge proclaimed by David and became commander of the army, and worked strategically against enemy nations and family disharmony. After Abner unwillingly killed Asahel, Joab killed Abner. Moreover, Joab thrust 3 weapons into the heart of David's son Absalom when Absalom was hanging in a tree after stealing the kingship during David's reign. However, Joab  helped David's son Adonijah proclaim himself king when David was still reigning. Before 70-year-old David died, Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and David spoke to Solomon about Joab. After David died, Solomon commanded mighty warrior Benaiah to kill Joab.

-Amasa was David's nephew, the son of David's sister Abigail. When Absalom stole David's reign, Absalom appointed Amasa commander of the army. After Joab became responsible for Absalom's death, and David prepared to return to Jerusalem, David revealed that Amasa was to be commander of the army. Thus, Amasa replaced Joab, the previous commander. After Amasa failed to return when expected from a mission authorized by David, Joab killed Amasa.

-Caleb (Chelubai) was Hezron's son, Hur's father, Uri's grandfather and Bezaleel's great-grandfather. Biblical scholars do not necessarily agree that the Hur, Uri and Bezaleel listed in the above genealogy are the same Hur, Uri and Bezaleel described in the Book of Exodus in the Holy Bible.

-Segub was the son of Hezron, the son-in-law of Machir and the father of Jair.

-Jair was from the tribe of Judah on his paternal side and from the tribe of Manasseh and the clan of Gilead on his maternal side. Jair and 1/2 of the Israelites in the tribe of Manasseh, and all of the Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and all of the Israelites in the tribe of Gad, made their homes on the same side of the Jordan River that the Israelites had wandered through for 40 years after being led away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur by Moses and Moses'  older brother Aaron. Jair helped the Gileadites acquire more towns and was possibly the judge who led the Israelites between the leadership of Tola and Jephthah.

-Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, Tamar, Pharez and his twin brother Zarah, Hezron, Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon, Salma, Boaz, Ruth, Obed, Jesse, David, Solomon are among those listed in the biblical genealogies of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Over 500 years after David's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Zedekiah (Mattaniah)  became the 19th and last king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 1:1-2:34, 7:1-89, 10:1-36, 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, 32:1-42, Deuteronomy 3:1-29, 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 13:1-33, 22:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-12:15, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

The Lord God Himself

Words spoken by 70-year-old King Davidthe 2nd
king to rule over all of the Israelites in the
Promised Land, the land that the Lord God
promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew),
and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's
youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel),
and to their descendants:

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel said, The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow. But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands: But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.-2 Samuel 23:1-7

FYI - For Your Information

Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem. But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down. And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on. Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience. The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it. And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness. And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land to them by lot. And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will. Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose. Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead: And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified by the law of Moses. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.-Acts 13:13-41***When the apostle Paul (Saul) and those with him were in Antioch of Pisidia in Phrygia, Paul recounted some of the history of the Israelites, the descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and Paul spoke about:

-the Lord God and the 7 nations in Canaan, the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants.

-the division of the Promised Land, by lot and tribal size, according to the commands of the Lord God.

-the Lord God rejecting Saul as king due to Saul's disobedience.

-David, the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. David was from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah.

-Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.

-John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi, and the words he proclaimed, revealing that he was not the Christ.

-the request made by the Israelites to Pontius Pilate, governor (procurator) of Judea for the Roman Empire, that Jesus be crucified.

-the crucifixion of Jesus, and the burial of Jesus in a tomb.

-the resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

-the eyewitness accounts of the resurrection of Jesus.
