...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Their gods and There's God

Psalm 16

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.-Psalm 16:1-11/the complete psalm***The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the right hand of the Lord God is exalted, and majestic in power, and filled with righteousness. The right hand of the Lord God spread out the heavens, and gained possession of Canaan, the Promised Land, for the Israelites, his treasured and chosen people, and has given the Israelites victory. From the right hand of the Lord God went forth the law for the Israelites, the Ten Commandments, written upon 2 stone tablets with the finger of God. At his right hand, with saving strength, the Lord God saves and upholds his saints. Eternal delight is in the right hand of the Lord God, and with his right hand the Lord God finds those who hate him and shatters his enemies. Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Judah was Jacob and Leah's 4th born son. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Rachel died, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In GalileeJesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. In heaven, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Lord God, interceding for those who come to the Lord God in the name of Jesus.-Genesis 1:1-5:32, 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Deuteronomy 4:1-5:33, 8:1-10:22, 33:1-34:12, Joshua, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Psalm 16, Psalm 17, Psalm 18, Psalm 20, Psalm 21, Psalm 44, Psalm 45, Psalm 48, Psalm 60, Psalm 63, Psalm 73, Psalm 77, Psalm 78, Psalm 80, Psalm 89, Psalm 98, Psalm 108, Psalm 118, Psalm 138, Psalm 139, Isaiah 41:1-29, 48:1-22, Lamentations 2:1-22, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Romans 8:1-39, Hebrews 7:1-28
