The Lord God Said, and the Edomites Said

The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever. And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.-Malachi 1:1-5***Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were the fraternal twin sons and only children born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to Adam, the 1st man, and his wife Eve, the mother of all living. The Lord God created Adam. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Eve after taking a part out of Adam. When Abraham was living in Ur in southern Mesopotamia, the Lord God told Abraham to go out from his country, kin and father's house and come into the land he would be shown. The promises that the Lord God spoke to Abraham were similar to the promises that the Lord God spoke to Isaac and Jacob. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and Abraham, and Isaac and Isaac's descendants, and Jacob and Jacob's descendants. The Lord God caused Esau's descendants the Edomites to dispossess the Horim from Mount Seir and gave Mount Seir to the Edomites. Teman and Bozrah were principal cities among the Edomites. Abraham was wealthy, Isaac was wealthy, Jacob was wealthy, and Esau was wealthy. Years before Jacob and Esau were wealthy, Jacob deceived Isaac and cheated Esau. Saul was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Before Saul was anointed and became the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land, the idol worshiping Edomites were living under the rulership of kings. David, the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites, was from the tribe of Judah, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. David's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city, and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin and his family, to Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. The Babylonians looted and burned the temple and took a final group of Israelites, including Zedekiah, to Babylon. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that amid the destruction, the Edomites were watching, rejoicing, speaking boastfully, looting, cutting off Israelites trying to escape, and capturing and turning in Israelite survivors. Over 120 years earlier, the Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land and conquered the royal city, Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Malachi was an Israelite and a prophet of the Lord God. Sometime after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Malachi proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Over 500 years after the Israelites built another temple in Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:23, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:55, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah 49:7-22, Obadiah, Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Romans 9:1-33

And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.-Genesis 25:21-23

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.-Deuteronomy 23:7

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served others gods. And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac. And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.-Joshua 24:2-4...And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.-Joshua 24:8

Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished? Flee ye turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.-Jeremiah 49:7-8...Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD. Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.-Jeremiah 49:16-17

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them; Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword. And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.-Ezekiel 25:12-14

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face again mount Seir, and prophesy against it, And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:-Ezekiel 35:1-5

Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.-Joel 3:19-21

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:-Amos 1:11

Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau? And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.-Obadiah 1:8-9

And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;-Romans 9:10...It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.-Romans 9:12-15...Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.-Romans 9:18

Believe You Me

From a letter written by the apostle Paul
to believers in Rome:

I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.-Romans 9:1-16***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was 75 years old and his wife Sarah (Sarai) was 65, and they were childless, when the Lord God appeared to Abraham and promised to give Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. Abraham and Sarah were childless when the Lord God told Abraham to look at the land in every direction, and said that he would make Abraham have an innumerable amount of descendants.  Abraham and Sarah were childless when the word of the Lord God came to Abraham in a vision and Abraham spoke of being childless and spoke of his servant Eliezer. The Lord God promised Abraham that a son would be born to Abraham, and promised that Abraham would have an innumerable amount of descendants. Abraham believed in the Lord God, and the Lord God accounted it to Abraham for righteousness.  After Abraham questioned the Lord God, and Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would undergo 400 years of affliction in a foreign land before they would depart from the land with a vast amount of valuable goods and begin living in Canaan, and the Lord God made a covenant with Abraham. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born to Abraham and Hagar, according to Sarah's suggestion. Hagar was Sarah's Egyptian maidservant. Before Ishmael was born, the angel of the Lord spoke the words of the Lord God to Hagar and told Hagar to name the son Ishmael. When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God appeared to Abraham, and identified himself to Abraham. The Lord God gave Abraham a command, and gave Abraham and Sarah new names. The Lord God said he had made Abraham a father of many nations, and the Lord God promised to make Abraham exceedingly fruitful. The Lord God spoke of the nations and kings to come out from Abraham, and spoke of the everlasting covenant between the Lord God and Abraham and Abraham's descendants, and the everlasting possession of Canaan. The Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. The Lord God promised to bless Sarah, and the Lord God promised that a son would be born to Abraham and Sarah, and Sarah would be a mother of nations, and kings of people would come from Sarah. Abraham laughed, and spoke in his heart, and questioned the Lord God, and spoke of Ishmael to the Lord God. The Lord God spoke of Ishmael being blessed, fruitful, multiplied, bearing 12 princes, and being a great nation. The Lord God told Abraham that the son born to Abraham and Sarah must be named Isaac, and said that he would establish his covenant with Isaac. The Lord God spoke of his everlasting covenant and Isaac's descendants, and said Isaac would be born at the specified time the following year. When Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah. Isaac was born through the promise, and Ishmael was born according to flesh. After Isaac was weaned, Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away, according to Sarah's insistence and with assurance from the Lord God. The angel of the Lord spoke to Hagar and proclaimed, from heaven, the promises of the Lord God regarding Ishmael. Years thereafter, the Lord God tested Abraham and commanded Abraham to take Isaac to a specified place in Moriah and offer Isaac as a burnt offering. In Moriah, when Isaac was upon the altar, the angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to Abraham 2 separate times. Three years after Sarah died, 40-year-old Isaac married Rebekah (Rebecca), Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah were born to Abraham and Keturah, his 2nd wife. Before Abraham died, he gave his wealth and possessions to Isaac, and gave gifts to his other sons and sent them eastward, away from Isaac. The Lord God appeared to Isaac and promised to be with Isaac, and bless Isaac, and promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. The Lord God promised to confirm the oath he swore to Abraham, and the Lord God promised to multiply Issac's descendants, and give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. The Lord God said that in Isaac's descendants all nations shall be blessed. Over 100 years earlier, before Abraham and Sarah began living in Canaan, the Lo promised to make Abraham a great nation, and promised to bless Abraham, and make Abraham's name great, and promised that Abraham shall be a blessing. and all families shall be blessed in Abraham. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Esau and Jacob struggled together while they were in Rebekah's womb. Rebekah went to seek the Lord God and the Lord God told Rebekah about the 2 nations in her womb. Decades after Jacob was born, he obeyed Rebekah and deceived Isaac and cheated Esau. While Jacob was asleep and dreaming during his journey away from the family home in Canaan, Jacob saw a divine revelation and heard the Lord God speaking to him. The Lord God identified himself to Jacob, and promised to give Canaan to Jacob and to Jacob's descendants and promised that Jacob would have an innumerable amount of descendants, and the Lord God promised that in Jacob and Jacob's descendants all families shall be blessed. The Lord God told Jacob that he is with Jacob and will bring Jacob back to Canaan and will not leave Jacob until he has done everything that he had spoken to Jacob. At least 7 years after leaving home, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's journey to Canaan with his wives, maidservants, children, and possessions, Jacob had a divine wrestling encounter, and Jacob's name was changed. Sometime thereafter, the Lord God appeared to Jacob, and blessed Jacob, and gave Jacob a command, and spoke to Jacob about the nations and kings that shall come from Jacob, and the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. The Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, his treasured and chosen people. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. While the Israelites, and those with them, were still in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the Levites, their duties and their relationship to the Lord God. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 400 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, and the grandson of King David and Bathsheba, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. Less than 225 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 140 years after Samaria was conquered, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of David and his descendants, all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after Jesus was born, Jesus was circumcised. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested,  crucified, buried  in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin. Paul did not believe Jesus to be the ChristThroughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned any Israelite who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus, and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ, everlasting life, and the need to be saved, available to anyone who confesses with their mouth the Lord is Jesus, and believes in their heart that the Lord God raised Jesus out from the dead.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:55, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Roll Call

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel. And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori. Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph. Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu. Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. Of the tribe of Joseph, namely of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi. Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli. Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael. Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi. Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi. These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.-Numbers 13:1-20***Over 600 years before the Lord God told Moses to send spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur in southern Mesopotamia. The Lord God appeared to Abraham and told Abraham to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed from Ur to Haran in northern Mesopotamia with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot moved with their servants and possessions to Canaan. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and to childless Abraham. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born to Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's Egyptian maidservant. Ishmael was born according to flesh. When Ishmael was in Hagar's womb, the angel of the Lord proclaimed the promises of the Lord God to Hagar regarding Ishmael. When Abraham was 99 years the Lord God promised Abraham that Isaac would be born to Abraham and Sarah, and the Lord God told Abraham about his blessings for Ishmael. Moreover, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and Abraham, Ishmael and every male in the household was circumcised. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Years thereafter, Esau sold his birthright to Jacob. Moreover, Jacob obeyed Rebekah and deceived Isaac and cheated Esau of the blessing due the firstborn. The Lord God gave Mount Seir to Esau, and the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. At least 7 years after the deception and cheating, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild animal. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in the king's prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to both the imprisoned cupbearer and imprisoned baker who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, Joseph explained the meaning of 2 dreams to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph to be second-in-command in Egypt. During a famine in Canaan, Joseph sent 10 of his sons to Egypt to buy grain. Before Joseph's brothers returned to Canaan after their 2nd trip to buy grain, Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move to Egypt with their families, including Jacob. Pharaoh spoke similar words to Joseph. Thus, 130-year-old Jacob began living in Egypt, and Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his Egyptian wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the tribe of Levi, and described the duties of the Levites and the specific relationship between the Lord God and the Levites. In the desert wilderness of Paran, nobody from the tribe of Levi was sent with the chosen spies. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God, wanted spies sent to Canaan. During the 40-year journey to the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua (Oshea/Hoshea), the spy from the tribe of Ephraim, was Moses' successor. Over 1,400 years after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-8:40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4

Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged. And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come. And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:-Deuteronomy 1:20-23

FYI - For Your Information

Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,
and some scribes:

And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.-Mark 3:22-30***Seraiah is the 1st scribe identified by name and title in the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Seraiah was among the scribes who served during the reign of King David, the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. David was from the tribe of Judah, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. The birth tribe of Seraiah and other information regarding Seraiah's life are not revealed in the Holy Bible. Solomon was the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba. Over 900 years after Solomon became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, and Elihoreph and Ahijah (Ahiah) served as scribes, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the duties and responsibilities of Seraiah and his fellow scribes differed from those of the scribes who interacted with Jesus. In Galilee, a scribe spoke to Jesus and told Jesus he would follow him. Sometime thereafter, Jesus spoke about scribes and the kingdom of heaven to his disciples. In Judea, a scribe sought an answer from Jesus. In Jerusalem and another region, Jesus sought an answer from some scribes, and described the appearance and behavior of scribes. The scribes and Pharisees told Jesus they wanted to see a sign, and brought an adulterous woman to Jesus, and asked about the actions of his disciples, and asked the disciples about the behavior of Jesus, and grumbled about the behavior of Jesus and his disciples. Jesus taught that the scribes and Pharisees were hypocrites. Jesus told his disciples that in Jerusalem he was going to suffer many things from the scribes and others, and be rejected, and be condemned to death, and be betrayed to the Gentiles, and rise on the 3rd day. The scribes were among those who witnessed the wonderful things Jesus did, and were allied with Israelites who schemed, and plotted, and wanted to kill Jesus. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle. Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Reference Scriptures:
And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.-Leviticus 24:16

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.-Matthew 9:2-3

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.-Matthew 12:24-28...Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.-Matthew 12:31

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.-Mark 2:3...When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?-Mark 2:5-7

And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.-Luke 5:18...And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?-Luke 5:20-21

But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.-Luke 11:15...But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.-Luke 11:17-20

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.-Luke 12:10

The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee? Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.-John 7:20-21,

Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.-John 8:48-49...Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.-John 8:52

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.-John 10:7...And many of them said He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?-John 10:20-21
