Duration of the Situation

King Rehoboamthe 4th king to reign over all
of the Israelites and the 1st king to rule Judah,
the southern nation in the Promised Land:

And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done. For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree. And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem: And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made. And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king's house. And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber. Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days. And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.-1 Kings 14:21-31

brasen = nehoset/nechosheth = bronze, copper

Reference Scriptures:
And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.-Genesis 19:30...And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.-Genesis 19:38

And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target. And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.-1 Kings 10:16-17

And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces: And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee: (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)-1 Kings 11:30-32

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land. And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.-1 Chronicles 11:4-5...And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.-1 Chronicles 11:7

And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.-2 Chronicles 9:30-31

Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.-2 Chronicles 12:15

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.-Matthew 1:1...And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;-Matthew 1:7...And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.-Matthew 1:16

Don't Even Worry About It

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD. And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz. And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth. It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left. So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah. And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me. Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.-Isaiah 37:1-7***King Rehoboam was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah and the 1st king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Hezekiah was the 12th king to rule Judah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that, among Judah's kings, Hezekiah had an unparalleled trust in the Lord God. Rehoboam was an idolater and allowed idolatry and other wickedness throughout Judah. In the 5th year of Rehoboam's 17-year reign, the Lord God allowed King Shishak, ruler of Egypt, and those with Shishak, to invade Judah and capture fortified cities. Before Shishak and his allies invaded Jerusalem, the royal city, Shemaiah, a prophet of the Lord God, arrived in Jerusalem and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to Rehoboam and the princes. After Rehoboam and the princes humbled themselves, Shemaiah received another message from the Lord God. Shishak and his allies looted the palace and the temple of the Lord that was built by Rehoboam's father King Solomon, the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. However, according to the will of the Lord God, Rehoboam was not destroyed and Judah was a pleasant place. Saul, the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land, was from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Solomon's father David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer while reigning, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. King Hoshea was the 19th king to rule the northern nation. During the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, corresponding to the 6th year of Hezekiah's rule over Judah, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. During the 14th year of Hezekiah's 29-year reign, King Sennacherib, ruler of Assyria, conquered fortified cities in Judah. Hezekiah sent a message to Sennacherib and paid the wealth Sennacherib required. Afterwards, Sennacherib sent Rabshakeh, Tartan and Rabsaris to Jerusalem with an army and a message. In response, the Israelites remained silent, according to Hezekiah's command. Eliakim, Shebna and Joah went to Hezekiah, and Hezekiah went to the temple of the Lord. Hezekiah sent Eliakim, Shebna and some elderly priests to Isaiah the prophet with a message. Isaiah gave Eliakim, Shebna and the priests a message from the Lord God for Hezekiah. Meanwhile, Rabshekah went to Sennacherib while Sennacherib was in a battle against Libnah. When Sennacherib heard that King Tirhakah of Ethiopia was heading towards him for a battle, Sennacherib sent an envoy to Hezekiah with a message and a letter. After Hezekiah was given the letter, he read the letter, went to the temple, spread the letter before the Lord God, prayed to the Lord God and cried out to heaven. Meanwhile, Isaiah prayed to the Lord God and cried out to heaven. Shortly thereafter, Isaiah sent Hezekiah a message from the Lord God. The same night that Hezekiah received the message, the angel of the Lord God struck dead 185,000 of the military force encamped among the Assyrians. Sennacherib went to Nineveh in Assyria and was killed by 2 of his sons. Hezekiah's  great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. Jehoiakim's brother Zedekiah (Mattaniah) was the 19th king to rule Judah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians  conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:33, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Isaiah 1:1-31, 36:1-39:8, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Do the Do's, Don't the Don'ts, and Be the Be's

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Silvanus and Timotheus,
to believers in Thessalonica:

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us. Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss. I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.-1 Thessalonians 5:16-28***Isaiah was an Israelite and a prophet of the Lord God. Adam was the 1st man and Eve was the mother of all living. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God created Adam. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and the Lord God made Eve after taking a part out of Adam. Isaiah was descended from Adam and Eve, their son Seth, Seth's great-great-great-grandson Enoch, Enoch's great-grandson Noah the ark builder, Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). The Israelites were living in 2 separate kingdoms in the Promised Land when the Lord God gave Isaiah revelations regarding the Messiah and the Spirit. Over 675 years after Isaiah heard the words of the Lord God, and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle. Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin. Paul did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned any Israelite who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus, and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ, life in Christ, the return of Christ, and eternal life. Timothy (Timotheus) and Silas (Silvanus) journeyed with Paul and were sent on assignments.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-4:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Isaiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Not at All

Laws that the Lord God
gave to Moses for the Israelites:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD. Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD. What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him; Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath; The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water. And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food. That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith; I am the LORD. They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the LORD do sanctify them. There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat. If the priest's daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things. But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof. And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing. And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD; Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the LORD do sanctify them.-Leviticus 22:1-16***Amram, Jochebed, and their children Miriam, Aaron and Moses were Israelites from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai),  Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God gave Moses commands regarding the offering that was to be willing given, the sacred items that were to be made, and the new priesthood wherein only Aaron and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. After the tabernacle and all of the sacred items were made and anointed, the Lord God gave Moses, and sometimes Aaron, specific laws for the priests, their families and households. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 123-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites.  S In Galilee, Jesus put his hand upon a leper and proclaimed the leper be cleansed. In Bethany, in Judea, when Jesus was in the home of Simon the leper, a woman, possibly Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus, poured a spikenard mixture upon the head of Jesus. When Jesus was journeying from Samaria and Galilee towards Jerusalem in Judea, 10 lepers made a plea to Jesus, and Jesus spoke a command to the lepers. In Galilee, a woman suffering from a flow of blood touched the fringe on the bottom border of the outer garment Jesus was wearing. Shortly thereafter, Jesus grasped the hand of a dead 12-year-old girl and commanded the girl to arise.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Reference Scriptures:
And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:-Leviticus 2:1...And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.-Leviticus 2:3

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy. The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation.-Leviticus 6:24-26

Likewise this is the law of the trespass offering: it is most holy.-Leviticus 7:1...Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it shall be eaten in the holy place: it is most holy.-Leviticus 7:6

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,-Leviticus 24:1...And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.-Leviticus 24:5...Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.-Leviticus 24:8-9

All Gone

And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.-Luke 8:41-48***Before Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, went with Simon Peter, James and John, 3 of his 12 disciples and apostles, to the home of Jairus, and spoke to the people inside, and the people laughed, and Jesus grasped the hand of the dead 12-year-old girl and summoned the girl to arise, Jesus heard the words spoken by a woman newly healed of a bloody flow. Over 1,400 years before Jesus spoke to Jairus, the woman and the girl, Moses heard the Lord God speaking to him, and Moses' older brother Aaron heard the Lord God speaking to him. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, 80-year-old Moses and 83-year-old Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. Hear Ye, Hear Ye

A message the Lord God
revealed to Isaiah the prophet:

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out. There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up. These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee? Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God. Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine: Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again: But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.-Isaiah 51:17-23***Joshua was an Israelite from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Saul was from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. After the Israelites lived under the leadership of Joshua, elders, judges, and their own minds, Saul became the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants.  Saul reigned and lived in Gibeah, his hometown. Gibeah was located in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin. David was from the tribe of Judah, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. David's nephew Joab led the successful capture of a Jebusite enemy fortress. The fortress became the City of David, and David developed the surrounding area, establishing Jerusalem. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon reigned and lived in Jerusalem and built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Less than 200 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. At least 60 years before Samaria was conquered, Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Uzziah (Azariah) was ruling Judah. Isaiah the prophet began proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites during the latter end of Uzziah's 52-year reign. Uzziah's great-grandson Hezekiah was the 12th king to rule Judah. In the 14th year of Hezekiah's 29-year reign, King Sennacherib, ruler of Assyria, invaded Judah. After Sennacherib sent an envoy and army to Hezekiah and the Israelites in Jerusalem, Hezekiah sent a selected group to Isaiah. Hezekiah prayed to the Lord God, and Isaiah prayed to the Lord God. Manasseh, the son born to Hezekiah and Hephzibah, was the 13th king to rule Judah. During Manasseh's 55-year reign, the king of Assyria took Manasseh to Babylon, land controlled by Assyria. Manasseh humbled himself before the Lord God and prayed to the Lord God and the Lord God returned Manasseh to Jerusalem. Manasseh's grandson Josiah was the 15th king to rule Judah. During the 31st year of Josiah's reign, Pharaoh Necho (Neco), ruler of Egypt, went to battle the king of Assyria. Josiah set himself against Necho and was wounded and died. Jehoahaz, the son born to Josiah and Jehoahaz, was the 16th king to rule Judah. In the 3rd month of Jehoahaz's reign, Necho took Jehoahaz away and established Jehoahaz's son Jehoiakim (Eliakim) as king. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Lord God sent Chaldean, Syrian, Moabite, and Ammonite marauders to Judah. Moreover, the Babylonians invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and his mother Nehushta, to Babylon. Zedekiah (Mattaniah), another son born to Josiah and Hamutal, was the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Before Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, and after Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 33 1/2 years after he was born, the Roman Empire was ruling the land whereupon the kingdoms of the Israelites previously stood.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Isaiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.-Psalm 75:8

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.-Jeremiah 25:15-16

The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.-Zechariah 12:1-2

Just Obedience

The words of the Lord God
to Jeremiah the prophet:

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them. Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:-Jeremiah 25:15-17

To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day; Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; And all the mingled people, and all kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Asheklon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod. Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon. And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea, Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners, And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert, And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes, And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.-Jeremiah 25:18-26

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts. Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, the LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.-Jeremiah 25:27-31

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.-Jeremiah 25:32-33
