...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Oh, Yes, It's Ladies' Might

The Tribe of Ephraim:

And the sons of Ephraim; Shuthelah, and Bered his son, and Tahath his son, and Eladah his son, and Tahath his son, and Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son, and Ezer, and Elead, whom the men of Gath that were born in that land slew, because they came down to take away their cattle. And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him. And when he went in to his wife, she conceived, and bare a son, and he called his name Beriah, because it went evil with his house. (And his daughter was Sherah, who built Beth-horon the nether, and the upper, and Uzzen-sherah.) And Rephah was his son, also Resheph, and Telah his son, and Tahan his son, Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son, Non his son, Jehoshuah his son. And their possessions and habitations were, Bethel and the towns thereof, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns thereof; Shechem also and the towns thereof, unto Gaza and the towns thereof: And by the borders of the children of Manasseh, Bethshean and her towns, Taanach and her towns, Megiddo and her towns, Dor and her towns. In these dwelt the children of Joseph the son of Israel.
-1 Chronicles 7:20-29***Ephraim and his older brother Manasseh were born to Joseph and Asenath. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob (Israel) and Rachel, his 2nd wife and cousin. Asenath was the daughter of Poti-pherah, an Egyptian priest. Sometime after 130-year-old Jacob and his entire family moved from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph was second-in-command, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim to be his own sons. Jacob and his older fraternal twin brother Esau (Edom) were the only children born to Isaac and Rebekah, his wife and cousin. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), his wife and half sister. Rebekah was the sister of Laban the Syrian (Aramean), and the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian (Aramean), and the grandniece of Abraham and Sarah. There are possibly 2 sets of fathers and sons with the names Nun and Joshua identified in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible. Joshua (Jehoshua/Hoshea/Oshea), the son of Nun (Non), was born into the tribe of Ephraim when the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Joshua was a warrior and served as an aide for MosesMoses and his older siblings Miriam and Aaron were from the tribe of Levi. Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, Rachel's older sister. During the years that Moses and Aaron led the Israelites through the desert wilderness, after leading them away from Egypt and across the divinely parted Red Sea, according to the commands of the Lord God, Joshua was among those who only worshiped the Lord God, even when other Israelites were worshiping idols. Joshua was chosen by the Lord God to serve as Moses' successor. In the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants.  Joshua, and Aaron's son and successor Eleazar the priest, and specific tribal leaders allotted each tribe their portion of the Promised Land, according to the commands that the Lord God gave Moses. In Gezer, in the area of land allotted to the tribe of Ephraim, the Ephraimites lived among the Canaanites after the Ephraimites were not able to cast the Canaanite inhabitants completely from the land. Ephraimites also were defeated by Philistines from Gath, a chief city among the Philistines. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Gath was the home of Goliath the gigantic Philistine. Moreover, Gath became a temporary dwelling place for David, and those with him, before 37-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Sherah, another Ephraimite, is associated with the profits brought to the tribe of Ephraim due to the properties associated with her name. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of David, Solomon and their descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 1:1-54, 11:1-34, 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:28-37, 27:12-23, 34:1-29, Deuteronomy 1:1-3:29, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-17:18, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
