Ecclesiastes Chapter 1 consists of 18 verses,

I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem. And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered. I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge. And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrows.-Ecclesiastes 1:12-18

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou has not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.-2 Chronicles 1:11-12

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.-Ecclesiastes 4:4...There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.-Ecclesiastes 4:16

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.-Ecclesiastes 6:9

  Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;-Ecclesiastes 3:1-3

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a  time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.-Ecclesiastes 3:4-8

What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.-Ecclesiastes 3:9-11

I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.-Ecclesiastes 3:12-15

And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast the goeth downward to the earth? Ecclesiastes Chapter 11 consists of 10 verses,

verses 7-10 are given below:

Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.-Ecclesiastes 11:7-10***David the Israelite was a shepherd, musician, psalmist, warrior, husband, father, and king, and was extremely wealthy. David only worshiped the Lord God and was identified as a man after God's own heart. Before 70-year-old David died, Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. David was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. In Gibeon, Solomon was asleep when the Lord God appeared in a dream and told Solomon to make a request, and Solomon asked the Lord God to give him wisdom, knowledge and an understanding heart. The Lord God gave Solomo wisdom and knowledge, and a wise and discerning heart, unparalleled riches, wealth and honor, and the possibility of a long life. During Solomon's 40-year reign, he was married to 700 idol worshiping princesses from foreign nations and became an idolater. Solomon is widely recognized as the divinely inspired writer of the Book of Ecclesiastes, and most of the proverbs in the Book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible. Approximately 930 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of David and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ was born, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave Abraham. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Ecclesiastes Chapter 8

1.Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.

2.I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.

3.Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.

4.Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? 

5.Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.

6.Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.

7.For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?

8.There is no man that hath power over the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

9.All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.

10.And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.

11.Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

12.Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

13.But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

14.There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.

15.Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.

16.When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:)

17.Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea  further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

Wise and Wisdom and Foolish and Fools

Ecclesiastes Chapter 10 consists of 20 verses,

4.If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.

5.There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler.

6.Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.

7.I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

8.He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

9.Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered thereby.

10.If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

11.Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.

12.The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

13.The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.

14.A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?

15.The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.

1.For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. 
2.All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
3.This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
4.For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
5.For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
6.Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

7.Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

8.Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.

9.Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.

10.Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

11.I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 consists of 22 verses,

What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. A Time

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 consists of 22 verses,

2.A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3.A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4.A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5.A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6.A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

8.A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

 Background Information: 

The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that in the beginning the Lord God created the heavens and the earth. On the 1st day, the Lord God proclaimed light to come to pass, and the Lord God saw the beautiful light, and the Lord God divided a separation between the light and the darkness. On the 4th day, the Lord God proclaimed lights in the expanded surface of the sky to separate day from night, and for signs, and appointed times, and days, and years, and light in the expanded surface of the sky, and light over the earth. On the 6th day, the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Solomon was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah,  descended from Adam and Eve's son Seth, Seth's great-great-great-grandson Enoch, Enoch's great-grandson Noah the ark builder, Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Solomon was the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. During the beginning portion of Solomon's 40-year reign, the Lord God appeared to Solomon in a dream and told Solomon to make a request. Solomon asked the Lord God to give him an understanding heart, wisdom and knowledge. The Lord God gave Solomon a wise and discerning heart, wisdom, knowledge, and unparalleled riches, honor and wealth. Solomon is widely recognized as the divinely inspired writer of the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Holy Bible. During the latter portion of Solomon's reign, Solomon began worshiping the idols worshiped by his 700 idol worshiping wives. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites,  Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
