...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Not at All

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD. The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness. The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister; for she is thy mother's near kinswoman. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.  Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.-Leviticus 18:1-18***When the Israelites were in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in
the region of Mount Sinai, months after Moses and his older brother Aaron  led them away from Egyptian slaveryacross the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. Immediately thereafter, the Lord God began
giving Moses judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites. Some of the laws involved issues of personal intimacy and were similar
to the relationships of several of their ancestors.

-Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was the husband of Sarah (Sarai), his half sister. Abraham and Sarah's only child, Isaac, was born when Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90.

-Lot was the nephew of Abraham and Sarah. Lot lived with his wife and their family in Sodom before the Lord God destroyed Sodom, Gomorrah and the nearby cities and region. Moab was born to Lot and Lot's oldest daughter. Ben-ammi was born to Lot and Lot's youngest daughter. Moab's descendants the Moabites and Ben-ammi's descendants the Ammonites were enemies of Abraham and Sarah's descendants the Israelites (Hebrews/Jews).

-Jacob (Israel) was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Jacob  unknowingly married Leah and willingly married Leah's younger sister Rachel.

-Reuben was the 1st child born to Jacob and Leah. When Reuben lived with Jacob and the rest of their family in Canaan, he was intimate with Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Bilhah was the mother of Reuben's half brothers Dan and Naphtali, the sons born to Jacob and Bilhah.

-Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. Judah unknowingly engaged in intimacy with his daughter-in-law Tamar. Twin sons Perez and Zerah (Pharez and Zarah) were subsequently born to Judah and Tamar. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, Tamar, Perez, and Zerah are listed in the biblical genealogy of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God.

-Amram was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Amram married Jochebed, his father's sister. Miriam, Aaron and Moses were born to Amram and Jochebed.
