And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. Abraham, Sarah, Terah, and Lot settled in Haran, in northern Mesopotamia. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, 75-year-old Abraham journeyed away from Haran with Sarah, Lot, their servants, and possessions and began living in Canaan. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. Amid a famine, Abraham, Sarah and Lot went to Egypt. Shortly thereafter, Abraham returned to Canaan with Sarah, Lot, servants, possessions, sheep, cattle, camels, donkeys, silver, and gold. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born to Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's Egyptian maidservant. When Abraham was 100 years, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
