Get to Gettin'

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased. And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.-Matthew 21:12-17***Isaiah the prophet received visions and messages from the Lord God when King Uzziah (Azariah) and Uzziah's son King Jotham, and Jotham's son King Ahaz, and Ahaz's son King Hezekiah successively reigned in Jerusalem over Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. Isaiah received revelations
of the kingdom to come, and the Christ, who had yet to be born. Over 700 years after Isaiah received the revelations, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and Jesus went to Galilee. Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Several times, Jesus spoke of the divinely inspired revelations proclaimed or written by Isaiah and other prophets, including Moses, Daniel, HoseaMicah, Zechariah, and Malachi, and some psalmists.-Genesis 1:1-2:25, 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 5:1-6:25, 8:1-20, 17:1-20, 19:1-21, 24:1-22, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Psalm 8, Psalm 22, Psalm 35, Psalm 41, Psalm 54, Psalm 69, Psalm 82, Psalm 110, Psalm 118, Isaiah 5:1-6:13, 29:1-24, 53:1-12, 56:1-12, Jeremiah 7:1-34, Daniel 9:1-27, 11:1-12:13, Hosea 6:1-11, Micah 7:1-20, Zechariah 13:1-9, Malachi 3:1-18, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Job Description

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the suckling child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as  the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.-Isaiah 11:1-10***Isaac was the only child born to  Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were the only children born to Isaac and Rebekah. The Edomites descended from Esau. The Israelites (Hebrews/Jews) descended from Jacob. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. In the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants, the tribe of Judah was allotted land in the south. Jesse was from the tribe of Judah and lived in Bethlehem with his family, including his wife, sons and at least 2 daughters. David, the 8th and youngest son, became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. Less than 200 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 140 years after Samaria was conquered, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites.  Before the kingdoms were conquered, the Lord God gave Isaiah the  prophet revelations of the righteous Servant who would bear the iniquities and sins of many. Less than 600 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Before Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, and after Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by many people, and returned to heaven less than 33 1/2 years after he was born, the Roman Empire was ruling the land whereupon the kingdoms of the Israelites previously stood.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-4:23, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Isaiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

All in Together

From a letter written by the apostle Paul
to believers in Rome:

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.-Romans 15:5-13***Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the Israelite tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.  Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Over 800 years after Judah was born, David was born into the tribe of Judah. Over a decade thereafter, Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi, anointed David to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. When David was 37 1/2 years he began to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Jacob, and to Jacob's father Isaac, and to Isaac's father Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to their descendants. David is widely recognized as the divinely inspired psalmist who wrote the words of Psalm 18. Over 900 years after 70-year-old David died and his body was buried in the City of David, Jesus the Christ was born. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried, in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Paul did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned any Israelite who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God.
When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus in Syria to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life. The 49th verse of Psalm 18 was quoted by the apostle Paul in a divinely inspired message Paul sent to believers in Rome. Moreover, Paul quoted the divinely inspired words of Isaiah (Esaias), the prophet who proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites over 600 years before Jesus was born. Isaiah revealed the Christ, the Messiah, to be a root of Jesse, and Isaiah wrote of events to occur between the Christ and Gentiles.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-2:12, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, Psalm 18, Psalm 117, Isaiah 1:1-31, 7:1-25, 9:1-21, 11:1-16, 32:1-20, 35:1-20, 40:1-31, 42:1-25, 50:1-11, 52:1-53:12, 55:1-13, 59:1-21, 61:1-11, 63:1-19, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Sing Praises

Psalm 92

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.-Psalm 92:1-15/the complete psalm

And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,-Luke 3:23...Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.-Luke 3:38

Between Me and You

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.-Exodus 31:12-18***The children of Israel, the Israelites, are the descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his wives Leah and Rachel and maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah, and the 12 sons born to Jacob, his wives and maidservants. When Abraham and Sarah were living in Canaan, the Lord God made a covenant with Abraham when Abraham was in a deep sleep. The Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would be afflicted in a foreign nation before the descendants would leave the land with an abundance of valuable goods and live in Canaan. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 100-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam, Aaron and their younger brother Moses were from the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old, and Aaron was 83, the Lord God told Moses to go with Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. The commandment regarding the Sabbath day was the 4th commandment. The Sabbath day was blessed and consecrated by the Lord God. Moreover,  except for the priests, none of the Israelites, or any other people, including servants or slaves, and no animals in their midst were to perform any work on the Sabbath day. Anyone who performed any tasks on the Sabbath day was to be killed. Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount NeboThe Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successorwas descended from Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Shortly thereafter, Jesus began to preach, teach, and perform miracles among the Israelites. Jesus identified himself as Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus healed a man's hand, and healed a physically afflicted woman, and a physically afflicted man, and a man afflicted with dropsy, and a blind man on the Sabbath day.-Genesis 1:1-5:32, 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 15:32-41, 20:1-29, 27:12-28:31, Deuteronomy 4:1-5:33, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

                ******************************

And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.-Numbers 15:32-41

Yes or No

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue: And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; And charged them that they should not make him known: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.-Matthew 12:9-21***Over 1,500 years before Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old, the Lord God sent Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses  judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites. The commandment to remember the Sabbath day was the 4th of the Ten Commandments. Before the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, and throughout their 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, and before both of their kingdoms in the Promised Land were invaded and conquered, the sect of Pharisees did not exist among the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Jerusalem and Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ was born. Meanwhile, the Pharisees were a visibly recognizable group known for observing the laws that the Lord God gave to Moses, and for following the traditions that were passed down by the Israelite elders. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. The Pharisees questioned Jesus when Jesus performed a healing miracle on the Sabbath day and when Jesus' disciples plucked and handled some corn on the Sabbath day. Moreover, the Pharisess did not believe Jesus to be the Christ, and began working with others to destroy Jesus.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 15:32-41, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 23:1-35

Understand, Man

And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner. And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.-Luke 11:37-44***When Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, approximately 30 years after he was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, the Pharisees were a group that despised Jesus. The Pharisees were Israelite men who followed the commandments, judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave to Moses for the Israelites, and the Pharisees followed the traditions passed down by the Israelite elders. Jesus proclaimed the Pharisees to be hypocrites and revealed that the Pharisees did not have true compassion for others, including when they dealt with widows, the poor, and those involved in disputes.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 5:1-6:27, 15:1-41, 19:1-20:29, 27:1-31:54, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-28,34, 2:1-16, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 15:1-41, 23:1-35

Oh Happy Days

From the response given by Job after his friend Bildad spoke
when Job was in the midst of suffering:

Moreover, Job continued his parable, and said, Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! Then young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up. The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me: Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil of of his teeth.-Job 29:1-17***Centuries before the apostle Paul (Saul) wrote a divinely inspired letter to believers in Colosse and described the type of garments that those who were living a new life in Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, should strip off and put on, Job, a man who only worshiped the Lord God, was suffering through a series of calamities. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, Job's friends, came to visit, grieve with and console Job. However, they also spoke accusingly to Job. During one of his responses, Job spoke of his previous, close relationship  with the Lord God. Job also spoke of the manner of respect he had always experienced and the benevolent actions he had steadily performed during the life he lived clothed in judgment and righteousness.-Genesis 1:1-4:26, 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Job, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Colossians

Blessed Dressed List

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Timotheus (Timothy),
 to believers in Colosse:

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word of deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.-Colossians 3:8-17***In a divinely inspired message sent from the apostle Paul (Saul), with Timothy (Timotheus), to believers in Colosse, some characteristics of believers are described. Paul's letter reveals that among those who have accepted Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, who had been crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, as their Lord and Savior, outbursts, impulses of anger, and abusive and disgraceful language are to be stripped, renounced and laid aside. The new attire for believers, whether Israelites or Gentiles, circumcised or uncircumcised, native born or foreigners, civilized or uncivilized, free or enslaved, is compassion, usefulness, humility, lowliness, patience, and most of all charity, which is love. Paul was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Timothy's mother Eunice was an Israelite and Timothy's father was a Gentile, a person not born into the Israelite tribes.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Colossians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy

Grateful Living

Psalm 149

Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.-Psalm 149:1-9/the complete psalm

Sang Praises

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto Go: and the prisoners heard them.-Acts 16:16-25***Paul (Saul) was an Israelite and a Roman citizen from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham
(Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah,
Jacob (Israel) and Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Paul became an apostle of Jesus the Christ, the Son of Godsometime after Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Over 500 years before Paul was born, both of the kingdoms of the Israelites (Hebrews/Jews) in the Promised Land were invaded and conquered, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. The Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel, and began taking Israelites to Assyria, and conquered Samaria, the royal city. The king of Assyria sent people from other nations conquered by the Assyrians to live in Samaria. The Babylonians  (Chaldeans) invaded Judah, the southern nation, and began taking Israelites to Babylon, and conquered Jerusalem, the royal city. The divinely inspired writer of Psalm 137 in the Holy Bible revealed that in Babylon the Babylonians would command the Israelites to sing songs the Israelites were known for singing to the Lord God. Notably, after Paul and Silas (Silvanus), a fellow believer and servant of the Lord, were whipped and imprisoned in Philippi, a Roman colony in eastern Macedonia, Paul and Silas freely prayed and sang to the Lord God.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Psalm 137, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, 2 Corinthians 1:19, 1 Thessalonians 1:1, 2 Thessalonians 1:1, 1 Peter 5:12
