...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

All in Together

And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.-Exodus 24:1-8***Miriam, Aaron and Moses were Israelites and siblings from the  tribe of Levi. Aaron was 3 years older than Moses, and Miriam was older than Aaron and Moses. Nadab and Abihu were 2 of Aaron's sons; Nadab was the firstborn. Aaron was the 1st high priest in the new priesthood that the Lord God gave Moses the commands for when Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God, months after Moses and Aaron led the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness. Only Aaron, his sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. One of the priests was to be the high priest. The men in the tribe of Levi who were 25 to 50 years old were commanded by the Lord God to assist the priests at the tabernacle. The Levites were to care for the sacred items at the tabernacle, prepare the tabernacle and items to be moved, and carry the tabernacle and items to each new destination. Before Aaron and his sons were anointed and consecrated, Moses performed some priestly duties. Moses sprinkled blood upon the altar, and upon the Book of the Covenant, and upon the Israelites, and Moses anointed and sanctified Aaron and his sons to serve the Lord God as priests. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin, and 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor. When 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 1,300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was at the Last Supper with his disciples  and revealed a message to them regarding his blood, the covenant and the forgiveness of sins.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 1:44-54, 3:1-4:49, 6:22-27, 8:1-26, 16:1-18:32, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Hebrews
