...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

One More Time

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, and saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net break. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: and so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.-Luke 5:1-11 ***Simon Peter, James and John were the 3 disciples and apostles most constantly with Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Simon Peter, James and John were in the fishing business together, and Simon Peter also worked as a fisherman with Andrew, his brother. Each of them left their nets to follow Jesus, and they were with Jesus when Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, betrayed Jesus, and Jesus was arrested less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus told them to follow him. After Jesus was crucified, buried in tomb and resurrected, Jesus appeared to the disciples and others. Athe Sea of Tiberias,  also known as the Sea of Galilee and possibly the Lake of Gennesaret, Jesus appeared to Peter, James, John, and the 4 disciples with them. Before Jesus returned to heaven, the disciples were together when Jesus appeared to them.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, 1 Corinthians 1:1-31, 15:1-58
