And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.-Joshua 15:16-17

And the spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim. So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.-Judges 3:5-14***Moses was 80 years old and herding sheep amid the region of Mount Horeb, the mountain of God, when he saw a fiery sight and heard the Lord God call his name. Moses answered the Lord God, and the Lord God spoke to Moses about the outcries and pain of the Israelites, and told Moses that he was going to deliver the Israelites from the Egyptians and bring the Israelites to the land of milk and honey that was inhabited by the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. Moses spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord God and Moses spoke to each other before the Lord God sent Moses and Moses' 83-year-old brother Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Paran, the Lord God told Moses to send 1 man from each of the Israelite tribes to search Canaan, the land inhabited the the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. Moreover, the Israelites wanted Moses to send men into the land. The 12 spies returned and spoke about Canaan and the fruit that grew in the land before 10 of the spies began speaking about the size of the walls and the strength and size of people, specifically the Anakites. The Israelites wanted to appoint a leader and return to Egypt. Moses and Aaron fell face down before the Israelites. Two of the spies, Caleb and Joshua, spoke of victory and the Lord God. The glory of the Lord God appeared in the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and Moses spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord God spoke to Moses, and Moses reasoned with the Lord God, and the Lord God spoke to Moses and Aaron. During the 40th year of the journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron the high priest died upon Mount Hor. Near the Promised Land, Moses proclaimed his final messages to the Lord God, and spoke of the Lord God, and Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and Isaac, and Jacob (Israel), and recounted some of the history of the Israelites, and the Ten Commandments that the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim to them, and the judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave for the Israelites, including commandments about idolatry and marriage. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor. After the Lord God spoke to him, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Before 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Joshua proclaimed his final messages to the Israelites. After Joshua's death, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds, and repeatedly disobeyed the commands of the Lord God.  Othniel the judge was closely related to Caleb. Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was from the tribe of Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron and Moses. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint David, from the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, to reign as king.  David was 30 years old when he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah, and he was 37 1/2 years old when he began to rule over all of the Israelites. At least 900 years after Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and 70-year-old David died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Caleb, Achsah and Othniel

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou? Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. Canaan was land inhabited by idolaters that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham's descendants and childless Abraham. Ishmael was born to 86-year old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The elders believed the words of the Lord God that Aaron spoke to them. Pharaoh did not believe and he made the work of the Israelites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped and Moses burned and ground. Caleb was from the tribe of Judah and Joshua was from the tribe of Ephraim. In the desert wilderness of Paran, Moses sent Caleb, Joshua and 10 other spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God and the request of the Israelites. The 10 spies came back with a frightening report. Caleb and Joshua spoke about the possible victory awaiting them according to the will of the Lord God. The Israelites spoke of making plans to return to Egypt and wanted to pelt Caleb and Joshua with stones. The Lord God spoke to Moses, and Moses spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord God spoke to Moses and Aaron and revealed the punishment that was going to occur. The 10 spies died by a plague. Some Israelites decided to ignore the warnings spoken by Moses and venture towards the Promised Land, and they were attacked and forced to retreat by the Amalekites and Canaanites. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died, and Aaron's son Eleazar became Aaron's successor. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor. After the Lord God spoke to Joshua, and Joshua sent 2 spies to Canaan, and Rahab hid the spies, and the spies returned, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The Israelites destroyed Jericho, and Ai, and defeated kings and kingdoms before Joshua, Eleazar, Caleb, and the 9 tribal leaders specified by the Lord God began allotting each tribe its portion of the Promised Land according to the commands that the Lord God gave Moses. Caleb was 85 years old when he asked to be given the land that the Lord God told Moses he was to receive, land that Caleb had walked upon during the spying mission. Hebron, Caleb's portion of the Promised Land, was previously known as Kirjatharba (Kiriath Arba). To take possession, Caleb had to drive out the descendants of Anak, identified as  gigantic. Afterwards, Caleb wanted to drive out the inhabitants living in nearby Kirjath Sepher (Debir) and offered his daughter Acsah (Achsah) in marriage to the man who captured the city. Othniel, a close relative, accomplished the task. After 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Othniel was the 1st judge to lead the Israelites. Over 1,000 years after the elders demanded that Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
