...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Lord God Himself

The Lord God and Abraham (Abram the Hebrew)

And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites

-Genesis 15:7-21***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah, and Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad, and Arphaxad was born to Shem, and Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch, and Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth, and Seth was born to Adam and Eve. The Lord God created Adam, the 1st man, in the beginning, on the 6th day. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. When Abraham was living in Ur in southern Mesopotamia, the Lord God appeared to Abraham and told Abraham to leave his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed to Haran in northern Mesopotamia with Sarah, Terah and nephew Lot. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot journeyed with their servants and possessions to Canaan, land that was inhabited by some of the idol worshiping descendants of Noah's son Ham. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. Meanwhile, Abraham and Sarah were in a childless marriage. Abraham was older and still childless when the word of the Lord God came to him and revealed that Canaan would be given to Abraham and Abraham's descendants. After Abraham questioned the Lord God and brought specific creatures as requested, a deep sleep fell upon Abraham and the Lord God made a covenant with Abraham. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandnieceFraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Decades after Esau and Jacob were born, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Number 20:1-25:18, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 7:1-26, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Hebrews 11:1-40
