The descendants of Hezron,

an Israelite from the tribe of Judah:

The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai. And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah; And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz, And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse, And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third, Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, Ozem the sixth, David the seventh: Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three. And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite. And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon. And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur. And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel. And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub. And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead. And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead. And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa. And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah. Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.-1 Chronicles 2:9-27

-Hezron was born to Pharez, and Pharez was a twin son born to Judah and Tamar. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai).

-Nahshon (Naashon) was a chief leader among the Israelites in the tribe of Judah. Nahshon was not a prince, however, because Nahshon lived at least 350 years before the Israelites demanded to be led by a king in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants.

-Boaz was a wealthy Israelite and a relative of Naomi. Naomi was the mother-in-law of Ruth, a Moabite. Ruth was married to Naomi's son Mahlon until Mahlon died. The Moabites were descendants of Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot, and Lot's oldest daughter, and the son, Moab, born to Lot and his daughter.

-Jesse was the father of at least 2 daughters, Zeruiah and Abigail, and 8 sons, including Eliab, Abinadab, Shammah (Shimma/Shimea), Nethaneel, Raddai, Ozem, and David.

-Abishai was David's nephew, 1 of at least 3 sons born to David's sister Zeruiah. Abishai was a warrior and fought alongside David before and after David became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. During David's last fight on the battlefield, Abishai killed Ishbi-benob, a gigantic Philistine, when Ishbi-benob was preparing to kill David.

-Joab was David's nephew, and the brother of Abishai and Asahel. Joab was a warrior and fought alongside David before and after David reigned as king. Joab won a challenge proclaimed by David and became commander of the army, and worked strategically against enemy nations and family disharmony. After Abner unwillingly killed Asahel, Joab killed Abner. Moreover, Joab thrust 3 weapons into the heart of David's son Absalom when Absalom was hanging in a tree after stealing the kingship during David's reign. However, Joab  helped David's son Adonijah proclaim himself king when David was still reigning. Before 70-year-old David died, Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and David spoke to Solomon about Joab. After David died, Solomon commanded mighty warrior Benaiah to kill Joab.

-Amasa was David's nephew, the son of David's sister Abigail. When Absalom stole David's reign, Absalom appointed Amasa commander of the army. After Joab became responsible for Absalom's death, and David prepared to return to Jerusalem, David revealed that Amasa was to be commander of the army. Thus, Amasa replaced Joab, the previous commander. After Amasa failed to return when expected from a mission authorized by David, Joab killed Amasa.

 

-Caleb (Chelubai) was Hezron's son, Hur's father, Uri's grandfather and Bezaleel's great-grandfather. Biblical scholars do not necessarily agree that the Hur, Uri and Bezaleel listed in the above genealogy are the same Hur, Uri and Bezaleel described in the Book of Exodus in the Holy Bible.

-Segub was the son of Hezron, the son-in-law of Machir and the father of Jair.

-Jair was from the tribe of Judah on his paternal side and from the tribe of Manasseh and the clan of Gilead on his maternal side. Jair and 1/2 of the Israelites in the tribe of Manasseh, and all of the Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and all of the Israelites in the tribe of Gad, made their homes on the same side of the Jordan River that the Israelites had wandered through for 40 years after being led away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur by Moses and Moses'  older brother Aaron. Jair helped the Gileadites acquire more towns and was possibly the judge who led the Israelites between the leadership of Tola and Jephthah.

-Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, Tamar, Pharez and his twin brother Zarah, Hezron, Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon, Salma, Boaz, Ruth, Obed, Jesse, David, Solomon are among those listed in the biblical genealogies of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Over 500 years after David's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Zedekiah (Mattaniah)  became the 19th and last king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 1:1-2:34, 7:1-89, 10:1-36, 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, 32:1-42, Deuteronomy 3:1-29, 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 13:1-33, 22:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-12:15, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Visiting, Perchance, in Peace

The Lord God,

 and Samuel and David

And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. And Samuel said, How can I go? If Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD. And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee. And Samuel did that which the LORD spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice. And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD'S anointed is before him. But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel, And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this. Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this. Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.-1 Samuel 16:1-13***Boaz and his relative Elimelech and Elimech's wife Naomi were Israelites and lived in Bethlehem in the Promised Land. Canaan, the Promised Land, was the land inhabited by idolaters that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Benjamin was the 2nd and last son born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel. Mahlon and Chilion were born into the tribe of Judah to Elimelech and Naomi. Ruth and Orpah were Moabites descended from Abraham's nephew Lot and Lot's oldest daughter and their son Moab. The Ammonites descended from Lot and Lot's youngest daughter and their son Ben-Ammi. During a famine, Elimelech, Naomi, Mahlon, and Chilion went to stay in the Moabite land. While there, Elimelech died, and Mahlon was married to Ruth, and Chilion was married to Orpah. After Mahlon and Chilion died, and Ruth heard a report about the Lord God and his provision for the Israelites, she began journeying to Bethlehem with Ruth and Orpah. During the journey, Naomi spoke to Ruth and Orpah, and blessed them and told them to return to their own homes. Orpah returned to the Moabites. Ruth made a vow and stayed with Naomi. In Bethlehem, Ruth started working in Boaz's field and became Boaz's wife. Obed was born into the tribe of Judah to Boaz and Ruth, and Jesse was born to Obed.  Eight sons, including David, and at least 2 daughters, Zeruiah and Abigail, were born to Jesse. Meanwhile, Samuel the priest and prophet from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi was the judge leading the Israelites. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them. Samuel was not pleased with their request, and prayed to the Lord God, and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, and anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. When Saul was at Gibeah of God (the hill of God), the Spirit of God came upon him. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Samuel told Saul that the Lord God rejected Saul from being king and had torn the kingdom from Saul. David lived with his family in Bethlehem and was a man after God's own heart. While Saul reigned, The Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David to reign as king, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David, and the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. After Saul heard about David's skills, strength, appearance, and favor with the Lord God, he commanded that Jesse send David to him, and David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. Amid the Valley of Elah, David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine. David and Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and became afraid of David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal was married to David and helped David escape from their home. After the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui?), and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) ruled over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David began to rule over all of the Israelites. At least 950 years after Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and 70-year-old David died, John the Baptist and  Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ was born, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave Abraham. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach, and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God.
