Well, Well, Well

Abraham's servant meets Rebekah

And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water. And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.-Genesis 24:10-16***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, when the Lord God told him to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham moved away from Ur with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot and began living in Haran, in northern Mesopotamia. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot moved with their servants and possession to Canaan. Meanwhile, Abraham and Sarah's brother Nahor lived in Haran with his wife Milcah, Lot's sister. Eight sons, including Bethuel the Syrian, were born to Nahor and Milcah. Laban the Syrian and Rebekah were born to Bethuel. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born to Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Abraham was over 137 years old and Sarah was dead, he wanted to arrange Isaac's marriage. Thus, Abraham sent his most trusted servant to the family in northern Mesopotamia to obtain a wife for Isaac. The servant received Abraham's assurance that the Lord God would send his angel beforehand and the journey would be successful. When the servant reached his destination, the servant prayed and proposed a plan of circumstances to the Lord God. After the servant, Rebekah and those with them were near Isaac, and the servant spoke to Isaac, Isaac and Rebekah became husband and wife. During the 20th year of their marriage, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, Jacob married Laban's daughters Leah and Rachel. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-36:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4
