These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of  Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim, Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader. And Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites. And the families of Kirjathjearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites. The sons of Salma; Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites. And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.-1 Chronicles 2:42-55

 Reference Information 

-Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel, is the same person identified as  Caleb, the son of Hezron. However, this Caleb is not the same person as Caleb the son of Jephunneh, 1 of the 12 spies sent by Moses on a mission to Canaan, the Promised Land.

-Hur is possibly the same person who supported Moses' hand while Aaron, the older brother of Moses, supported Moses' other hand during a battle against the Amalekites.

King Solomon, the third king to rule over all

 of the Israelites in the Promised Land, 

the land that the Lord God promised to

give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to 

Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest

 fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), 

and to their descendants:

And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.-2 Chronicles 1:1

                       

Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers. So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness. But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem. Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it. In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.-2 Chronicles 1:7-12

Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel. And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance. And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price. And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.-2 Chronicles 1:13-17

Jeremiah the prophet

Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, the LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard. Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you. As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you. But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears. Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God. Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying, Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest. Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls. And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah: and when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt; and Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt. Micah the prophet was an Israelite from Moresheth-gath and was known as a Morasthite, an inhabitant of Moresheth. Judah was the southern nation in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants, and  Jerusalem was the royal city. Micah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Judah and Jerusalem during the reign of King Jotham, the 10th king to rule Judah, and the reign of Jotham's son Ahaz, the 11th king, and the reign of Ahaz's son Hezekiah, the 12th king to rule Judah. Jeremiah the prophet was from a family of priests in Anathoth, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin, the descendants of Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. However, according to the will of the Lord God, Anathoth was given to the Levites. The Levites, including the priests, were from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jeremiah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Jerusalem and Judah during the reign of Hezekiah's great-grandson Josiah, the 15th king to rule Judah, and the reign of Josiah's son Jehoahaz, the 16th king, and the reign of Josiah's son Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the 17th king, and the reign of Jehoiakim's son Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king, and the reign of Josiah's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jeremiah was not certain about his ability to speak the words of the Lord God, and Jeremiah received actions, answers and assurances from the Lord God. After Jeremiah finished proclaiming a specific message in the courtyard of the temple of the Lord God, the Israelites, including priests and prophets, thought that Jeremiah was speaking a false message in the name of the Lord God. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Before taking more Israelites captive, the Babylonians burned the temple and other buildings. Similarly, over 120 years earlier, the Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land and conquered the royal city, Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Something Needed to Change about Its Name

The tribe of Dan in the Promised Land:

And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah, And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron, And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath, And Jehud, and Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon, And Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho. And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.  Background Information: 

The Danites descended from Dan. Dan was the 1st son born to Jacob (Israel) and Bilhah, the maidservant of Jacob's 2nd wife Rachel.  Joshua was descended from Jacob and Rachel's firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Moses and his older siblings Aaron and Miriam were descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said that they would obey the words of the Lord God. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died and Aaron's son Eleazar became his successor. Near the Promised Land, the Lord God gave Moses commands for allotting each tribe its portion of land, and told Moses the names of the 10 tribal leaders who were to assist Joshua and Eleazar with the task. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor. After the Lord God spoke to him, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Jacob, and to Jacob's father Isaac, and to Isaac's father Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to their descendants. After the Israelites destroyed Jericho, and Ai, and defeated King Adoni-zedek, King Jabin, and their armies and allies, and conquered other kingdoms and kings, Joshua, Elezar and the 10 tribal leaders began allotting each tribe its portion of land according to the commands that the Lord God gave Moses. The Danites were not able to dispossess all of the idolatrous inhabitants living throughout their portion. Thus, they sent spies from 2 of their cities on a mission to find more land. Over 1,300 years after the Danites conquered Laish (Leshem), Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. And he said, Ye have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and ye are gone away: and what have I more? and what is this that ye say unto me, What aileth thee? And the children of Dan said unto him, Let not thy voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows run upon thee, and thou lose thy life, with the lives of thy household. And the children of Dan went their way: and when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back unto his house. And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire. And there was no deliverer, because it was far from Zidon, and they had no business with any man; and it was in the valley that lieth by Beth-rehob. And they built a city, and dwelt therein. And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born unto Israel: howbeit the name of the city was Laish at the first.-Judges 18:11-29

The Danites

And there went from thence of the family of the Danites, out of Zorah and out of Eshtaol, six hundred men appointed with weapons of war. And they went up, and pitched in Kirjath-jearim, in Judah: wherefore they called that place Mahaneh-dan unto this day: behold, it is behind Kirjath-jearim. And they passed thence unto mount Ephraim, and came unto the house of Micah. Then answered the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish, and said unto their brethren, Do ye know that there is in these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image? now therefore consider what ye have to do.-Judges 18:11-14***The Israelites in the tribe of Dan, the Danites, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Bilhah, and Jacob and Bilhah's firstborn son Dan. Bilhah was the maidservant of Jacob's 2nd wife Rachel. In Padan Aram, Haran, Dan and Naphtali were to Jacob and Bilhah after Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. After Naphtali was born, Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his family in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The elders believed the words of the Lord God spoken by Aaron. Pharaoh did not believe, and he made work for the Israelites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites sacrificed to and worshiped, and Moses burned and ground. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died, and Aaron's son Eleazar became his successor. The Israelites killed the Canaanite ruler of Arad and destroyed the cities and people throughout his kingdom, and King Sihon and the cities and Amorites throughout his kingdom, and conquered and expelled the Amorites in Jazer (Jaazer), and killed killed King Og, ruler of Bashan, and the Amorites throughout his kingdom. Near Canaan, the Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and the tribe of Gad asked to be given some of the land recently conquered. Moses spoke to the Reubenites and Gadites, and after they agreed to the terms presented, Moses gave the Reubenites, Gadites and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh the land requested. Before Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried, the Lord God gave Moses commands for dividing the land, and the Lord God told Moses the names of the men, including Eleazar and Joshua, responsible for the task. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim. After the Lord God spoke to Joshua, and Joshua sent 2 spies to Canaan, and Rahab hid the spies, and the spies returned, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The Israelites, led by Joshua, conquered Jericho, Ai, and other kingdoms and kings before Joshua, Eleazar, and the tribal leaders specified by the Lord God began allotting each tribe its portion of land. After 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, and the elders associated with Joshua were dead, the Israelites began worshiping the idols worshiped by the idolaters in Canaan. The Lord God raised up judges to lead the Israelites, and after the death of each judge, the Israelites usually reverted to idolatry. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God stopped driving out the enemy nations still living throughout Canaan. Several of the Israelite tribes, including the Danites, were unable to expel enemy occupants from allotted territory. When 5 warriors from the tribe of Dan were searching for another place in the Promised Land wherein their tribe could settle, the 5 warriors came across the home of Micah before they came to vulnerable Laish. The 5 warriors told their fellow Danites about the goodness of Laish, and during the journey to conquer Laish, the 5 warriors spoke to their fellow Danites about the articles in Micah's house. Over 1,000 years after Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, according to the command of the Lord God, and Saul became the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
