...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

But If You Do

Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, the LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard. Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you. As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you. But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears. Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God. Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying, Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest. Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls. And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah: and when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt; and Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt. And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people. Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.-Jeremiah 26:12-24***The Israelites descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Micah the prophet was an Israelite from Moresheth-gath and was known as a Morasthite, an inhabitant of Moresheth. Judah was the southern nation in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Jerusalem was the royal city. Micah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Judah and Jerusalem during the reign of King Jotham, and the reign of Jotham's son Ahaz, and the reign of Ahaz's son Hezekiah. Jotham was the 10th king to rule Judah, Ahaz was the 11th king and Hezekiah was the 12th king to reign. Jeremiah the prophet was from a family of priests in Anathoth, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin, the descendants of Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. However, according to the will of the Lord God, Anathoth was given to the Levites. The priests and their brethren the Levites were from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jeremiah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Jerusalem and Judah during the reign of Hezekiah's great-grandson Josiah, and the reign of Josiah's son Jehoahaz, and the reign of Josiah's son Jehoiakim, (Eliakim), and the reign of Jehoiakim's son Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), and the reign of Josiah's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah). Josiah was the 15th king to rule Judah, Jehoahaz was the 16th king, Jehoiakim was the 17th king, Jehoiachin was the 18th king, and Zedekiah was the 19th king to rule Judah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jeremiah was not certain about his ability to speak the words of the Lord God, and Jeremiah received actions, answers and assurances from the Lord God. After Jeremiah finished proclaiming a specific message in the courtyard of the temple of the Lord God, the Israelites, including priests and prophets, thought that Jeremiah was speaking a false message in the name of the Lord God. During Jerhoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Before taking more Israelites captive, the Babylonians looted and burned the temple. Over 120 years earlier, the Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land and conquered the royal city, Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after a group of Israelite survivors took Jeremiah to Egypt, and Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, 35:1-8, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 21:1-45, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Jeremiah, Micah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
