Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. The Second Time Around

The apostle Paul and Barnabas the Levite

And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia. And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia: And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled. And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles. And there they abode long time with the disciples
.
-Acts 14:19-28***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was over 75 years old, childless and in a deep sleep when the Lord God made a covenant with him. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, the maidservant of Abraham's wife Sarah (Sarai). When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and Abraham circumcised 13-year-old Ishmael, and Abraham and the males throughout Abraham's household and property were immediately circumcised. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year old Sarah. On the 8th day after Isaac was born, Abraham circumcised Isaac. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Over 1,800 years after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan,
John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ was born, Jesus was circumcised. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus chose 12 of his disciples and named them apostles and sent them on a mission only among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by the disciple and apostle Judas Iscariot, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, including the 11 disciples and apostles, and told the 11 men to go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all the creation. On the 40th day, Jesus was returned to heaven. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Judas Iscariot was dead; he killed himself. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite and a Pharisee from the tribe of Benjamin and did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned Israelites who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. Barnabas (Joses/Joseph) was a Levite, an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, and believed Jesus to be the Christ, and declared to the apostles in Jerusalem the truth about Paul the apostle and Paul's new life. In Caesarea, Cornelius the centurion, a Gentile, a person not born into the Israelite tribes, saw an angel of God in a vision and obeyed the words spoken by the angel. In Joppa, a trance fell upon Simon Peter and he saw a divine vision and heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Simon Peter spoke to Jesus. In Cornelius' house, amid Cornelius and his family and friends, Simon Peter proclaimed the good news of Jesus the Christ and the forgiveness of sins through the name of Jesus for everyone who believes in Jesus. The Israelites with Simon Peter saw that the Holy Spirit fell upon all the listeners, and Simon Peter asked a question and commanded the new believers to be baptized in the name of Jesus. When Simon Peter went to Jerusalem, the apostles and other Israelites spoke to him about the Gentiles, and Simon Peter explained everything, and the Israelites glorified the Lord God and understood that the Lord God has also given the Gentiles repentance unto life. Barnabas was in Antioch of Syria until he went to Tarsus and found Paul and brought Paul to Antioch, the 1st place the disciples were identified as Christians. Paul and Barnabas were sent by the disciples in Antioch on a special ministry mission to Jerusalem. After Paul and Barnabas returned to Antioch, with Barnabas' relative John Mark, they were sent from Antioch, according to the command spoken by the Holy Spirit, and went to Seleucia and Cyprus. In Salamis, Paul and Barnabas preached the gospel in the synagogues, and in Paphos, Sergius Paulus, the Roman proconsul of Cyprus, became a believer after seeing the result of words spoken by Paul to Bar-jesus (Elymas) the sorcerer-magician, a false Israelite prophet. After Paul, Barnabas and John Mark went to Perga of Pamphylia, John Mark went to Jerusalem and Paul and Barnabas went to Antioch of Pisidia. In the synagogue in Antioch, Paul spoke of the Lord God, and the Israelite ancestors, and Jesus the Christ. A group of Gentiles wanted Paul and Barnabas to speak to them the next Sabbath day, and on the Sabbath, almost the entire city came to hear the word of the Lord. The Israelites saw the crowd and started contradicting Paul's message, and Paul and Barnabas said that they were turning to the Gentiles, according to the command of the Lord. A group of prominent Israelites in Antioch kicked Paul and Barnabas out of their region. In Iconium, Israelites who did not believe the good news of Jesus the Christ poisoned the minds of the Gentiles and plans were made to stone Paul and Barnabas. When Paul and Barnabas learned of the intentions, they went to Lystra, and some Israelites from Antioch and Iconium arrived. Paul was pelted with stones, and dragged out of Lystra. Paul went back to Lystra, and Paul and Barnabas went to Derbe, Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, 1 Peter, 2 Peter

Something Needs to Change About Your Names, they thought

After proclaiming the good news of
among the Israelites in Antioch, Syria, and
in Cyprus, and Antioch of Pisidia, and Iconium,
the apostle Paul (Saul),and Barnabas the Levite
were in Lystra, in Lycaonia, in Asia Minor:

And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them. And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.-Acts 14:8-20

More Plus More Because of the Lord

Events that occurred after Stephen was killed

Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church,
and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
-Acts 11:19-26***Stephen was an Israelite and believed Jesus, who had been betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, to be the Christ, the Son of God. Stephen had a reputation of good report, and was full of faith, the Holy Spirit, wisdom, grace, and power. When Stephen was being interrogated, Israelites from at least 1 synagogue brought false witnesses against Stephen. Afterwards, Stephen recounted the history of the Israelites and their relationship to the Lord God, and Stephen described the divine sight he was witnessing. The Israelites took Stephen out of the city and stoned him to death while Paul (Saul), an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, guarded the garments of the assailants stoning Stephen. Barnabas was an Israelite from Cyprus, and believed Jesus to be the Christ of God, and was an apostle of Jesus the Christ. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that while Barnabas was living his life in Christ Jesus, Paul was persecuting and imprisoning Israelites throughout Jerusalem who called upon the name of Jesus. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind, and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life. In Jerusalem, years after Paul was baptized, the disciples and apostles of Jesus did not believe that Paul accepted Christ Jesus as Lord. Thus, Barnabas presented Paul to them and explained the details of Paul's divine experience and Paul's new life in Christ.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, 9:35-44, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Him, too

From a letter written by the apostle Paul (Saul)
to believers in Galatia, years after
buried a tomb, resurrected, seen by
over 500 people, and returned to heaven:

For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me. Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised: And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you

Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?-Matthew 13:55

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.-Acts 26:9-11

They Said, and He Similarly Said

in Antioch in Pisidia:

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. But they shook of the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.-Acts 13:42-52

*************************************************

The apostle Paul, Silas (Silvanus), Timotheus (Timothy),

After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles. And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue. And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city. And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.-Acts 18:1-11

Saying Nothing

The apostle Paul and Barnabas:

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them. But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them
.-Acts 15:1-12***Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, and descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin.  Barnabas was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. On the 8th day after Paul was born, Paul was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Barnabas was born, Barnabas was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave 99-year-old Abraham. Over 1,900 years after 175-year-old Abraham died, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ was born, Jesus was circumcised. At least 40 days after Jesus was born, Joseph, Mary and Jesus were in Jerusalem and sacrifices were offered, according to the laws that the Lord God gave Moses for the Israelites over 1,400 years earlier. During the 12th year after Jesus was born, Joseph and Mary found Jesus in the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, listening, asking, understanding, and answering.
Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. Jesus told Paul to share the message of Christ with Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes. The Israelite believers in Jerusalem did not trust Paul. Thus, Barnabas stood with Paul and described Paul's new life in Christ. In Antioch of Pisidia, after speaking to the Israelites, Paul and Barnabas explained the good news of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. As Paul and Barnabas continued journeying and delivering the message of Christ, concerns steadily arose among the Israelites about the Gentile believers.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans 11:1-36, 15:1-33, Galatians 1:1-2:21, Ephesians 3:1-21, 1 Timothy 2:1-15, 2 Timothy 1:1-18, 4:1-22

Reference Scriptures:
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.-Acts 10:44-45

Questions in Succession

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Sosthenes,
to believers in Corinth and everywhere:

Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, Have we not power to eat and to drink? Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle tha mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel
.-1 Corinthians 9:1-14***Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. When Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested,  crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized, Paul was not a disciple or an apostle of Jesus. When the disciples and apostles of Jesus were preaching the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life to their fellow Israelites, Paul was persecuting and imprisoning Israelites throughout Jerusalem who believed Jesus to be the Christ. Shortly after Paul stood guard over the garments of the pelters stoning  Stephen, an Israelite believer, to death, Paul received verbal and written permission to journey to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found. As Paul and those with him neared Damascus, they saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus, and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul served the Lord as a preacher, teacher, apostle, and divinely inspired writer, and miracles were accomplished, according to the will of the Lord. Moreover, Paul worked as a tentmaker and worked to help support  those with him, and received assistance from believers in Philippi and other places. Yet, there were times when Paul did not have food or water.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus 6:1-30, Deuteronomy 25:1-19, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 9:35-44, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colos andsians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Heard Tell

From a letter written by the apostle Paul
to believers in Galatia:

But I certify unto you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.-Galatians 1:11-2:2***The Pharisees were members of the sect of Israelites known for their outer appearance and actions. The Pharisees knew and obeyed the Ten Commandments that the Israelite ancestors heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim to them, and the judgments, statutes and laws that the Lord God gave Moses for the Israelites, and the Pharisees knew and obeyed the traditions that were passed down by the Israelite elders. The Pharisees did not believe Jesus to be the Christ, the Son of God. Moreover, the Pharisees associated Jesus with evil, and accused Jesus of speaking blasphemies, and worked to lay traps due to the words Jesus spoke, and made plans to destroy  Jesus. Jesus revealed that the Pharisees were hypocrites. After Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested and crucified, Nicodemus the Pharisee
helped Joseph of Arimathaea prepare the body of Jesus for burial, and place the body of Jesus the Christ in a tomb. The Pharisees were with those who ensured that the entrance to the tomb was securely blocked. Moreover, Paul was a Pharisee. Sometime after Jesus was resurrected and returned to heaven, Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, with permission from the high priest, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus, and obeyed Jesus, In Damascus Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, 9:35-44, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon
