...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

A Deal for the Field

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.-Matthew 27:1-10***Jeremiah (Jeremy/Jeremias) the prophet, the chief priests and the elders were Israelites, descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah, and Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad, and Arphaxad was born to Shem, and Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch, and Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth, and Seth was born to Adam and Eve. The Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. In the Garden of Eden, Eve was deceived, and Eve and Adam disobeyed the command of the Lord God. After the Lord God spoke to Adam, and Eve, and to the serpent whose craftiness led to Eve and Adam's actions, the Lord God made garments of animal skin and clothed Adam and Eve and drove them out of the Garden of Eden. Decades after Jacob and his older fraternal twin brother Esau (Edom) were born, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The chief priests, elders, and many other Israelites did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. The chief priests, Pharisees and scribes  wanted to take hold of Jesus. The chief priests and scribes dispatched spies in their plan to deliver Jesus to the rule and authority of the governor, and sent officers to seize Jesus. The chief priests, scribes and Israelite leaders wanted to destroy Jesus. The chief priests, scribes, and Israelite elders wanted to kill Jesus. Moreover, the chief priests and Pharisees plotted to kill Jesus and commanded that people inform them of the whereabouts of Jesus. Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle of Jesus, went to the chief priests and made a deal to betray Jesus, and Jesus was  arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Years after Jesus was returned to heaven, Paul the apostle was divinely inspired to write:

-For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.-Romans 3:23-26

-Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:-Romans 5:1...For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.-Romans 5:6...But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.-Romans 5:8-10...Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;-Romans 5:12...Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all  men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.-Romans 5:19

-But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.-1 Corinthians 15:20-22

-For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.-2 Corinthians 5:14-15...And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;-2 Corinthians 5:18...For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.-2 Corinthians 5:21

-Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.-Ephesians 1:2...In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;-Ephesians 1:7

-But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.-Ephesians 2:13

-To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.-Colossians 1:2...In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:-Colossians 1:14...And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they they be things in earth, or things in heaven.-Colossians 1:20

Reference Scriptures:
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.-Zechariah 11:12-13

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.-Acts 1:15-19
