King Jehoshaphat and King Jehoram

Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years. And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made. Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom. And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool. But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel. And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel. And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses. And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.-2 Kings 3:1-8***The Egyptians descended from Noah the ark builder, and Noah's son Ham, and Ham's son Mizraim. Ham's son Canaan was the forefather of the Sidonians (Zidonians). The Arameans descended from Noah's son Shem and Shem's son Aram. The Israelites descended from Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). The Edomites descended from Isaac and Rebekah's oldest fraternal twin son Esau (Edom). The Moabites descended from Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot and Lot's oldest daughter, and Moab, the son born to Lot and his daughter. Canaan was land inhabited by idolaters that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The Lord God gave Mount Seir to Esau. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The elders believed the words of the Lord God spoken by Aaron. Pharaoh did not believe and he made work for the Israelites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses, and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped and Moses burned and ground. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Amid the waters of Meribah in Kadesh, the glory of the Lord appeared Moses and Aaron, and the Lord God gave Moses a command, and Moses and Aaron spoke to the Israelites, and Moses struck a rock twice with a rod, and the Lord God spoke to Moses and Aaron. While in Kadesh, Moses sent messengers with a request to the ruler of the Edomites nearby. The Edomite king refused the request, and the Edomites gathered in force. The Israelites went a different way and did not attack the Edomites, according to the command that the Lord God gave Moses. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign. David, from the tribe of Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jeroboam established idolatry throughout the kingdom, and instituted his own system of priests, and put a golden calf in Dan, in the northern territory, and a golden calf in Bethel, in the southern territory. Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Rehoboam's great-grandson Jehoshaphat was the 4th king to rule Judah. During the 22nd year of Ahab's reign, Jehoshaphat arrived for a visit, and Ahab asked Jehoshaphat to join him in a battle against the Syrians (Arameans). Jehoshaphat agreed, and was being surrounded during the battle, and cried out, and the Lord God helped Jehoshaphat and diverted the Syrians away from him. Ahab was wounded, and died the same evening. Ahaziah, the son born to Ahab and his wife Jezebel, a Sidonian princess, was the 8th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and Ahab and Jezebel's son Jehoram (Joram) was the 9th king. During the beginning portion of Jehoram's 12-year reign over the northern nation, King Mesha, ruler of the Moabites, refused to pay tribute, and Jehoram sent a request to Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat's son and successor Jehoram (Joram) was married to Ahab's daughter Athaliah. Over 800 years after Jehoshaphat's son and successor Jehoram became the 5th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. And it came to pass, that when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, he slew them. And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom. But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah. But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign. David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king. During the 4th year of his 40-year reign, Solomon began building the temple of the Lord, and in the 11th year, workers finished building the temple in Jerusalem. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Jehu was anointed to reign as king in the northern nation, he killed Ahab and Jezebel's son Jehoram, and Jehoshaphat's son Ahaziah was killed, and Jezebel was killed, and Ahab's 70 other sons were killed and beheaded, and Ahab's officials, friends and royal priests in Jezreel were killed, and Ahaziah's 42 visiting relatives were killed, and everyone else in Samaria connected to Ahab was killed, and the false priests and prophets were killed. In Judah, when Athaliah learned that Ahaziah was dead, she caused her royal descendants to be killed and she began to reign, unaware that Ahaziah's son Joash (Jehoash) and Joash's nurse were rescued by Ahaziah's sister Jehoshabeath (Jehosheba). Jehoshabeath's husband Jehoiada the priest kept Joash hidden in the priests' quarters in the temple. When Joash was 7 years old, Jehoiada presented Joash as Judah's rightful ruler, and put the crown upon Joash's head, and Jehoiada and his sons anointed Joash, and Joash became the 7th king to rule Judah. Athaliah was killed. At least 750 years after Jehu's son Jehoahaz became the 11th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and Amaziah, the son born to Joash and Jehoaddan, became the 8th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ,  the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah,

King Jehoshaphat, after the Moabites, Ammonites_and inhabitants of Mount Seir prepared to attack, and Jehoshaphat prayed to the Lord God, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon Asaph's descendant Jahaziel, and Jahaziel proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants:

I Do Not Appreciate, as a Matter of Fact I Hate

In the Promised Land-

King Jehoshaphat, ruler of Judah, the southern nation,

and King Ahab, ruler of the northern nation of Israel,

and Micaiah, a prophet of the Lord God

Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab. And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead. And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war. And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day. Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand. But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him? And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so. And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla. And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed. And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good. And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak. And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand. And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?-2 Chronicles 18:12-15

Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.-2 Chronicles 18:16

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?-2 Chronicles 18:17

Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the LORD said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.-2 Chronicles 18:18-22

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee? And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.-2 Chronicles 18:23-24

Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son; And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace. And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.-2 Chronicles 18:25-27

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.-2 Chronicles 18:28

King Jehoshaphat, King Jehoram,

King Mesha, and the king of the Edomites

And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool. But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.-2 Kings 3:4-5

And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel. And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses. And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom. So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them. And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab! But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah. And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.-2 Kings 3:6-12

And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab. And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee. But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches. For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts. And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand. And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.-2 Kings 3:13-19

And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water. And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border. And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood: And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil. And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country. And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.-2 Kings 3:20-25

And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.-2 Kings 3:26-27

 Background Information 

The Moabites and the Ammonites descended from Lot and Lot's daughters. Moab, the forefather of the Moabites, was the son born to Lot and Lot's oldest daughter. Ben-ammi, the forefather of the Ammonites, was the son born to Lot and Lot's youngest daughter. Lot was born to Haran. Haran, Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), Nahor (Nachor), and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. Isaac born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Nahor's granddaughter. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Rebekah was Jacob's favorite. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God gave Mount Seir to Esau, and Esau's descendants the Edomites were ruled by kings, and the Lord God gave Ar to the Moabites, and the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The Israelites believed the words of the Lord God spoken by Aaron. Pharaoh did not believe, and he made work for the Israelites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wildness of Sin, the Israelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped and Moses burned and ground. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. While in Kadesh, Moses sought permission to pass through the land of the Edomites, and their king refused access to the Israelites while the Edomites united in strength. The Israelites took a different route and did not harm the Edomites, according to the command that the Lord God gave Moses. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. The tribe of Reuben and the tribe of Gad made a request, and Moses spoke to the Reubenites and Gadites, and after they agreed to the terms presented, Moses gave the Reubenites, Gadites and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh portions of the land recently conquered. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign. David, from the tribe of Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Ahab's 22-year reign, Elijah the prophet began proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-grandson Jehoshaphat was the 4th king to rule Judah.  Jehoshaphat was visiting Ahab when Ahab told him about the Syrians (Arameans) and their control over Ramoth-gilead, a city of refuge among the Israelites on the other side of the Jordan River, in the portion of land that Moses gave to the tribe of Gad. Jehoshaphat responded affirmatively and told Ahab to seek the will of the Lord God. Ahab gathered approximately 400 prophets, and the prophets said that the Lord would deliver the victory to Ahab. Jehoshaphat told Ahab to seek the will of the Lord God from a prophet of the Lord God, and Ahab sent an officer to bring Micaiah to him. The officer told Micaiah to speak the same good words that the other prophets were speaking. Micaiah repeated the words spoken by the other prophets, and Ahab demanded the truth. Micaiah revealed a message from the Lord God, and Ahab imprisoned Micaiah. As Jehoshaphat followed Ahab's plan, and was surrounded, Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord God helped Jehoshaphat, and caused the Syrians to see that Jehoshaphat wasn't Ahab. The Syrians stopped following Jehoshaphat, and an archer struck Ahab with a bow, and Ahab died in the evening. Ahaziah, a son born to Ahab and his wife Jezebel, became the 8th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Ahaziah fell and was injured during his 2-year reign and died, and Ahab and Jezebel's son Jehoram (Joram) became the 9th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Meanwhile, Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind, and Elijah's aide and successor Elisha began proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. During Jehoram's 12-year reign, he sent a message to Jehoshaphat about the Moabite king. Over 750 years after Jehoshaphat's son Jehoram (Joram) became the 5th king to rule Judah, and was married to Ahab's daughter Athaliah, and Elisha the prophet died, and a dead man began living again after contact with Elisha's bones, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
