More Plus More Because of the Lord

And behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign. And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' art: and they made a very great burning for him. Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel. And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken. And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; But sought to the LORD God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance. And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah. Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Ben-hail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah. And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests. And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people. And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat. Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.-2 Chronicles 16:11-17:11***Sometime after the Lord God sent Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, to anoint Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, to reign as king over the Israelites in the Promised Land, Saul disobeyed the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king. David continued working as a shepherd for his father Jesse, and soon began working as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. After David killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, David remained as a full-time warrior for Saul. David made a covenant with Jonathan, Saul's son, and married Saul's daughter Michal, and Michal helped David escape from their home. After Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishobosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David and 37-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to  Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the nation in the north, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Rehoboam's great-grandson Jehoshaphat was the 4th king to rule Judah. David, Solomon and Jehoshaphat were wealthy rulers and funded extensive building projects. David was a warrior and fought in many battles. Solomon and Jehoshaphat enjoyed years of peace. When David reigned, he accumulated gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, gems, marble and other material for Solomon to build the temple of the Lord. The Israelites also gave valuable contributions for the temple to be built. During Jehoshaphat's 25-year reign, the Israelites throughout Judah contributed to Jehoshaphat's wealth, and Philistines and Arabians were generous towards Jehoshaphat. Over 800 years after Jehoshaphat's son Joram (Jehoram) became the 5th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
