...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Live, yet Die and Live Again

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.-Luke 7:11-17***Elimelech was an Israelite from Bethlehem in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. During a famine in Bethlehem, Elimelech went with his wife Naomi and their sons Mahlon and Chilion to live among the idol worshiping Moabites, the descendants of Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot and Lot's oldest daughter and the son, Moab, born to Lot and his daughter. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that while living among the Moabites, Elimelech died, and Mahlon was married to Ruth, and Chilion was married to Orpah. Ruth and Orpah were Moabites. Sometime after Mahlon and Chilion died, Naomi heard that the Lord God had visited the Israelites, his treasured and chosen people. Thus, Naomi prepared to return to Bethlehem. Ruth vowed to stay with Naomi and worship the Lord God, the only God Naomi worshiped. In Bethlehem, Naomi was married to Elimelech's relative Boaz. Obed was born to Boaz and Ruth, and Jesse was born to Obed, and David was the 8th son born to Jesse. Approximately 1,000 years after 37-year-old David became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of Boaz and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites throughout Judea, Galilee and the surrounding regions. Twelve disciples usually walked with Jesus, and many other disciples followed Jesus until Jesus spoke of his flesh and blood. Jesus sent his 12 disciples and apostles to proclaim messages about the kingdom of heaven and repentance and gave them authority to cure diseases, cast out evil spirits, and raise the dead, similar to the miracles they saw Jesus perform before the disciple and apostle Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle betrayed Jesus, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:31, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-2:12, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
