Them and the Assignment They Were Given
The Lord God and Moses
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance. And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. Of the tribe of Benjamin, Eliadad the son of Chislon. And of the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli. The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azran. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud. These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.-Numbers 34:16-29***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, when the Lord God appeared to him and told Abraham to go out from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed away from Ur with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot and began living in Haran, in northern Mesopotamia. After 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, 75-year-old Abraham, 65-year-old Sarah, and Lot journeyed with their servants and possessions to Canaan, land inhabited by idolaters that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham's descendants and childless Abraham. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God gave him the covenant of circumcision, and Abraham circumcised 13-year-old Ishmael, and Abraham and the males throughout Abraham's household and property were immediately circumcised. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. On the 8th day after Issac was born, Abraham circumcised Isaac. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and their new baby brother were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Amram and Jochebed kept their newborn baby hidden from the murderous intentions of Pharaoh. When the baby was 3 months old, Jochebed placed him in a specially prepared ark, and put the ark amid the vegetation by the river. Miriam saw Pharaoh's daughter send a maidservant to retrieve the ark, and Miriam spoke with Pharaoh's daughter, and arrangements were made for Jochebed to be hired as a wet nurse for the baby. After the child was weaned, Jochebed took him to Pharaoh's daughter, and Pharaoh's daughter named the child Moses, and Moses lived as her son. When Moses was 40 years old, he killed an Egyptian and hid the body, and the murder was mentioned to Moses, and Pharaoh wanted to kill Moses, and Moses bolted from Egypt and began living in Midian, and was married to Zipporah, the daughter of Jethro (Reuel), a Midianite descended from Abraham and his 2nd wife Keturah and their son Midian. Moses was 80 years old and hereding Jethro's sheep amid the region of Mount Horeb (Sinai) when he saw a fiery sight and heard the Lord God call his name. The Lord God gave Moses a command, and the Lord God and Moses spoke with each other, and the Lord God sent Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The elders believed the words of the Lord God spoken by Aaron. Pharaoh did not believe, and he made work for the Israelites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israaelites asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites sacrificed to and worshiped and Moses burned and ground. In the desert wilderness of Paran, Moses sent 12 spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God and a request made by the Israelites. Caleb, from the tribe of Judah, and Joshua, from the tribe of Ephraim, gave a report about the victory awaiting them according to the will of the Lord God. The 10 spies from the other tribes gave a frightening report. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died, and Aaron's son Eleazar became Aaron's successor. The Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and the tribe of Gad asked to be given some of the land recently conquered. Moses spoke to the Reubenites and Gadites, and after the terms presented were agreed upon, Moses gave the tribe of Reuben, and the tribe of Gad, and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh the land requested. Shortly thereafter, the Lord God began giving Moses commands for dividing the Promised Land, and the Lord God named the 10 tribal leaders who were to assist Eleazar and Joshua, Moses' aide and successor, with the task. Larger tribes were to be given larger portions of land, and smaller tribes were to be given smaller portions, and the location of the each tribe's land in Canaan was to be determined by the casting of lots. Proverbs 16:33 in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that every decision of lots cast is of the Lord God. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. After the Lord God spoke to Joshua, Joshua sent 2 spies to Canaan, and Rahab hid the spies, and the spies returned, and Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The Israelites, led by Joshua, destroyed Jericho, and Ai, and other kingdoms and kings before Joshua, Eleazar and the 10 tribal leaders began allotting each tribe its portion of the Promised Land. Bethlehem was in the region allotted to the tribe of Judah. Over 1,300 years after 110-year old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Roll Call
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel. And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori. Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph. Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu. Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. Of the tribe of Joseph, namely of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi. Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli. Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael. Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi. Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi. These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.-Numbers 13:1-20***Moses and his older brother Aaron and their older sister Miriam were born in Egypt into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochbed, Israelites descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jacob was married in Padan Aram, Haran, to Leah and her younger sister Rachel. Levi, Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Before Moses returned to the Israelites, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the Sabbath day and Sabbath day laws and punishments, and the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord God told Moses about the golden calf. When Moses saw the golden calf and the actions of the Israelites, he threw down the 2 stone tablets, and burned and ground the golden calf, and questioned Aaron, and asked the congregation a question. The Levites, the Israelites in the tribe of Levi, gathered alongside Moses and killed approximately 3,000 of their idol worshiping brethren, according to the command that the Lord God gave Moses. Before the Israelites were led away from the Sinai region, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the Levites and the duties the Levites were to perform at the tabernacle as the only assistants to the priests. In the desert wilderness of Paran, none of the Levites was sent as a spy. -Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel, is the same person identified as Caleb, the son of Hezron. However, this Caleb is not the same person as Caleb the son of Jephunneh, 1 of the 12 spies sent by Moses on a mission to Canaan, the Promised Land.
-Hur is possibly the same person who supported Moses' hand while Aaron, the older brother of Moses, supported Moses' other hand during a battle against the Amalekites.
