...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Roll Call

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel. And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori. Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph. Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu. Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. Of the tribe of Joseph, namely of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi. Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli. Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael. Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi. Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi. These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.-Numbers 13:1-20***Over 600 years before the Lord God told Moses to send spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur in southern Mesopotamia. The Lord God appeared to Abraham and told Abraham to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed from Ur to Haran in northern Mesopotamia with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot moved with their servants and possessions to Canaan. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and to childless Abraham. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born to Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's Egyptian maidservant. Ishmael was born according to flesh. When Ishmael was in Hagar's womb, the angel of the Lord proclaimed the promises of the Lord God to Hagar regarding Ishmael. When Abraham was 99 years the Lord God promised Abraham that Isaac would be born to Abraham and Sarah, and the Lord God told Abraham about his blessings for Ishmael. Moreover, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and Abraham, Ishmael and every male in the household was circumcised. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Years thereafter, Esau sold his birthright to Jacob. Moreover, Jacob obeyed Rebekah and deceived Isaac and cheated Esau of the blessing due the firstborn. The Lord God gave Mount Seir to Esau, and the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. At least 7 years after the deception and cheating, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild animal. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in the king's prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to both the imprisoned cupbearer and imprisoned baker who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, Joseph explained the meaning of 2 dreams to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph to be second-in-command in Egypt. During a famine in Canaan, Joseph sent 10 of his sons to Egypt to buy grain. Before Joseph's brothers returned to Canaan after their 2nd trip to buy grain, Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move to Egypt with their families, including Jacob. Pharaoh spoke similar words to Joseph. Thus, 130-year-old Jacob began living in Egypt, and Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his Egyptian wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the tribe of Levi, and described the duties of the Levites and the specific relationship between the Lord God and the Levites. In the desert wilderness of Paran, nobody from the tribe of Levi was sent with the chosen spies. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God, wanted spies sent to Canaan. During the 40-year journey to the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua (Oshea/Hoshea), the spy from the tribe of Ephraim, was Moses' successor. Over 1,400 years after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-8:40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4

These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.-Deuteronomy 1:1...And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us. Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged. And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come. And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:-Deuteronomy 1:20-23
