And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother. And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother. When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan; And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram; And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.-Genesis 28:1-9***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), Sarah (Sarai), Nahor, and Haran were born to Terah. Abraham and Sarah became husband and wife, and Nahor became the husband of Haran's daughter MilcahHuz, Buz, Kemuel, Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel were born to Nahor and Milcah. Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah were born to Nahor and Reumah, Nahor's concubine. Ishmael was the only child born to Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham and Sarah. Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah were born to Abraham and Keturah, his 2nd wife. Years before any children were born to Abraham, Hagar, Sarah, and Keturah, the Lord God told Abraham to leave his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham, Sarah, Terah, and Haran's son Lot moved away from Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, and journeyed to Haran, in northern Mesopotamia. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah, and Lot moved with their servants and possessions to Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters. When the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham and Abraham's descendants, Abraham did not have any children. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born. When Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, Isaac was born. When Sarah was 127 years old and Isaac was 37, Sarah died. Abraham sent his top servant to Abraham's family members in northern Mesopotamia to find a wife for Isaac. In Haran, Aram-Naharaim (Padan Aram), in northern Mesopotamia, Abraham's servant prayed to the Lord God and saw Rebekah, Bethuel's daughter. Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel), the only children born to Isaac and Rebekah, were born when Isaac was 60 years old. Decades thereafter, Rebekah led Jacob to deceive Isaac and cheat Esau, and then made a suggestion to Isaac in an attempt to keep Jacob from being killed by Esau. In Bethel (Luz), while Jacob was asleep and dreaming, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. Seven years thereafter, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph was second-in-command.  When Jacob was 147 years old, he died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan. Sometime after 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings died in Egypt, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the  the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws, including laws regarding marriages and other possible intimate relationships, for the Israelites. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land,123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
