Like Father, Like Son, Like Grandson, and Great-grandson

From the Epistle to the Hebrews,

in the New Testament of the Holy Bible:

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.-Hebrews 11:17-22***Canaan was a land that flowed with milk and honey, and contained brooks, fountains and springs, and drank water from the rain of heaven. Huge fruit grew in Canaan, and idol worshipers lived throughout the land. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Abraham's descendants. Ishmael was the son born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, the maidservant of Abraham's wife Sarah (Sarai). Isaac was the son born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Years after Isaac was born, the Lord God told Abraham to journey to Moriah and offer Isaac as a burnt offering. Before Abraham put his knife into Isaac's body, the angel of the Lord proclaimed the message of the Lord to Abraham. Isaac was 40 years old when he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. When Isaac was elderly, Rachel prompted Jacob to deceive Isaac and cheat Esau, and receive the blessing due Esau. Esau cried and sought a blessing from Isaac, and Isaac blessed Esau. After Rebekah learned that Esau planned to kill Jacob, she spoke words to Isaac that led him to send Jacob from their home in Canaan to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran. During Jacob's journey, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. During Jacob's 7th year in Haran, he was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed 30-year-old Joseph second-in-command. After the 2nd time that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt during a famine to buy (corn), Joseph identified himself to his brothers and told them to move with their families, including Joseph, to Egypt. During the journey, the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Joseph. In Egypt, Jacob made Joseph vow to bury him in Canaan, and Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. After 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and before 110-year-old Joseph died, Joseph made the Israelites vow to take his bones with them to Canaan when the Lord God brought the Israelites out of Egypt. Sometime after Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Years thereafter, the Israelites buried Joseph's bones in Shechem, in a portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Ephraim. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Less than 33 1/2 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 20:1-21:45, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
