Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. The Lord God Himself

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.-John 3:12-21***Jesus the Christ is the only begotten Son of the Lord God. Anyone who confesses Jesus with their mouth and believes in their heart that the Lord God raised Jesus from the dead shall be saved. Believers shall have everlasting life, not death. Over 4,000 years before Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God created Adam in the image of the Lord God. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Adam and Eve's son Seth was the great-great-great-grandfather of Enoch. Enoch's great-grandson was Noah the ark builder. Shem was born to Noah, and Arphaxad was born to Shem. Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson was Terah. Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah. Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah. Jacob (Israel) was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus gold specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God knows everyone's thoughts and knows the words each person will speak before the words are spoken. The Lord God chose believers in Christ before the foundation of the world. The Lord God's love is so great that when we were dead because of our sins, the Lord God made us alive together with Christ. The love that Jesus has for us is so great that Jesus willingly died for the sins of all mankind, sins which the Lord God puts as far as the east is from the west.Genesis 1:1-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Psalm 103, Psalm 139, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Romans 5:1-21, Ephesians 1:1-2:22, 5:1-33, 1 John 2:1-29

Do the Do's, Don't the Don'ts, and Be the Be's

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.-Luke 6:27-31***When the Israelites were in the desert wilderness of Sinai, months after Moses and his older brother Aaron led them away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, they heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. Shortly thereafter, the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The Lord God described to Moses, and sometimes Aaron, the actions necessary for atonement to be made when a law was not followed. The Lord God also described the measures to be taken against those who blatantly disregarded the commands of the Lord God. Physical injuries warranted personal retaliation, anyone guilty of premeditated murder and those who blasphemed the Name of the Lord were to be put to death, and thieves were required to repay more than the amount stolen. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Approximately 1,300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was by baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Jesus revealed that he had not come to destroy the law or Prophets, but to fulfill them, and Jesus taught that the law and the Prophets were until John the Baptist. Before Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized, Jesus said that the 2 foremost commandments were to love the Lord God with all one's heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love one's neighbor as oneself.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Romans 13:1-14, Galatians 5:1-26

Daddy's Girls

Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah. And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father. And Moses brought their cause before the LORD. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them. And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren. And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren. And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD commanded Moses.-Numbers 27:1-11***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham and Sarah. Jacob (Israel) was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. Er, Onan and Shelah were born to Judah and his wife, the daughter of Shuah the Canaanite. Er was married to Tamar and Er was wicked. The Lord God killed Er. After Judah led Onan to marry Tamar, Onan did something that displeased the Lord God and the Lord God killed Onan. Judah spoke to Tamar and led her to believe that Shelah would be her husband. When Tamar realized that Judah was not going to allow her to marry Shelah, she plotted to be intimate with Judah and become pregnant by him. Over 300 years after twin sons Perez and Zerah (Pharez and Zarah) were born to Judah and Tamar, Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Marah, according to the commands of the Lord God. Sometime thereafter, in another part of the desert wilderness, Korah, from the tribe of Levi, and those with him plotted against Moses and Aaron and the Lord God. Thus, the Lord God caused the earth to swallow them and some of the people attached to them. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. Sometime thereafter,  the daughters of Zelophehad spoke to Moses, seeking a just plan for their father's name and their inheritance. When 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Invitation Specifications

And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms, saying unto them, When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him, come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.-Luke 14:7-14***Saul was the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Sometime after the Lord God sent Samuel the priest, prophet and judge to anoint David to reign as kingDavid began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. Moreover, David killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, and made a covenant with Jonathan, and married Saul's daughter Michal. Saul wanted to kill David and wanted others, including Jonathan, to kill David. After Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, 30-year-old year David began to reign only over the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of his birth. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, 37 1/2-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. While reigning, David brought Jonathan's son Mephibosheth (Merib-baalfrom the home of Machir Machir (Makir), the house wherein he lived after being accidentally dropped years earlier. David granted Mephibosheth a permanent place at the royal table and granted Mephibosheth the property that belonged to Saul, fulfilling the obligation of the covenant made with Jonathan. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. The One and Only

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us. So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee. Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night. And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.-Joshua 10:6-14***Less than 3 months after Moses and his older brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God, the Amalekites attacked. Moses told Joshua to select men and fight the enemies, and Moses told Joshua that he would stand on the hill with the staff of the Lord God in his hand. During the battle, the Israelites were victorious when Moses' hand was raised. Whenever Moses dropped his hand, the Israelites began to lose. Thus, while on the hill with Moses, Aaron and Hur gave Moses a sizable stone to sit upon, and one of them kept Moses' right hand raised while the other kept Moses' left hand raised. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-yer-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led his fellow Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Shortly thereafter, the Israelites marched around Jericho once a day for 6 days, with 7 priests, each of whom held a rams' horn trumpet. The 7th day, the Israelites marched 7 times, the priests' made a longer sound with the trumpets, the Israelites shouted, the wall around Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites were victorious, according to the will of the Lord God. When the Gibeonites learned of the Israelites' victories at Jericho and Ai, they deceptively entered into a peace agreement with the Israelites. When King Adoni-zedek, a ruler in Canaan, learned of the victories and the covenant, he summoned 4 other kings to help him attack the Gibeonites. The Gibeonites sought assistance from Joshua, and the Lord God assured Joshua of success. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Levi, the tribal ancestor of Aaron and Moses, was Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 7:1-26, 31:1-34:12, Joshua, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Now I Know

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not. And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom: Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard. Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom. Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice. And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.-2 Chronicles 9:1-9***King David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. For 7 years during Solomon's reign, workmen built the temple of the Lord, and for 13 years workmen built a royal palace. Sometime after the completion of the buildings, the queen of Sheba journeyed to the kingdom to see if the Lord God had truly made Solomon the wisest man who ever lived, and if the buildings Solomon built and the servants who worked for Solomon were outfitted as elegantly as people had described. The queen arrived in Jerusalem, the royal city, with a caravan carrying jewels, and an estimated 4 tons of gold, and a never-before-seen amount of spices for Solomon. Solomon satisfied the requests of the queen of Sheba, and the queen of Sheba journeyed to her land with even more valuables than her caravan had brought to Jerusalem. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of David and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Provisions Light, Feeds All in Sight

And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children. And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.-Matthew 15:29-39***Shortly after Moses and his older brother Aaron the led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, they were in the desert wilderness of Sin. The Israelites grumbled and began reminiscing about the food they ate in Egypt. The Lord God told Moses that he was going to rain bread from heaven. In the evening, the Israelites ate quail and in the morning the Israelites began eating manna, the bread that the Lord God provided for the Israelites during their 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land. Over 500 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants, Elisha the prophet was proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. During a famine, a man brought Elisha corn and 20 loaves of bread and at least 100 men were fed. Over 800 years after Elisha died and his body was buried, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron and Moses. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus revealed that he was on Earth in the name of his Father, the Lord God in heaven, to do the will of his Father. Jesus spoke of the kingdom of heaven, and the kingdom of God, and healed those with afflictions, made others whole, cast out evil spirits, called the dead back to life, and sinners to repent and the weary to rest, fed multitudes, and gave his life as a ransom.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 11:1-35, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-5:15, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings 1:1-13:25, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 1 John 1:1-10, 5:1-21

Seems to Me

I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.-Ecclesiastes 2:4-11***David was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over a decade after David was born, the Lord God sent Samuel the priest, prophet and judge to anoint David to reign as king over the Israelites in the Promised Land. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. When David was 37 1/2 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. David brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to the City of David and wanted to build a house for the Name of the Lord God. The Lord God sent Nathan the prophet to speak with David and let David know that David's son and successor would build the house. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. The Lord God gave Solomon unparalleled wisdom and discernment. In Jerusalem, Solomon built the temple of the Lord. Moreover, Solomon built a palace, and a palace for the Egyptian princess he married, and a throne hall, the Hall of Justice, and ships, harps, lyres, gold shields, a throne of ivory and gold, numerous towns and cities throughout the kingdom, and a wall around Jerusalem. Solomon was the husband of 700 wives and was in relationships with 300 concubines. Hiram, king of Tyre, supplied Solomon with wood and workmen. The queen of Sheba brought Solomon gold, spices and jewels, and Solomon received valuables from a multitude of traders, officials, and foreign nations. Solomon is widely regarded to be the divinely inspired writer of the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Holy Bible. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Ecclesiastes, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

You Know You Know Him, Right

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead: And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber; Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not. So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead. And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all of us? And he said, To thee, O captain. And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel. And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel. For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel: And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah: And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door and fled. Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication. And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.-2 Kings 9:1-13***Jezebel was the wife of King Ahab and daughter-in-law of King Omri. Ahab was the 7th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. Ahab's father Omri was the 6th king to reign. Omri became king after the murder of King Elah, the 4th king, and the death of Elah's murderer King Zimri, the 5th king.  Elah reigned after the death of his father King Baasha, the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Baasha reigned after murdering King Nadab, the 2nd king to reign. Nadab became king after the death of his father King Jeroboam, the 1st king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Jeroboam established idolatry throughout the northern nation of Israel. Before Jeroboam became the 1st king to rule the northern nation and Rehoboam became the 1st king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, the Israelites lived unitedly in the Promised Land and Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, was the 1st king to reign. David, from the tribe of Judah, was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Ahab's son Ahaziah was the 8th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Joram (Jehoram), the son born to Ahab and Jezebel, was the 9th king to rule the northern nation. During Joram's reign, Elisha the prophet sent a younger prophet to anoint Jehu to rule the northern nation of Israel, according to the command of the Lord God. Jehu's great-great-grandson Zachariah (Zechariah), the 14th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation, was killed by Shallum, and Shallum became the 15th king to rule the northern nation. Menahem killed Shallum and became the 16th king to rule the northern nation. Menahem's son Pekahiah became the 17th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Pekah killed Pekahiah and became the 18th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation. The Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel during Pekah's reign and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. Hoshea killed Pekah and became the 19th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, the royal city, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city, and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites to Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
