The ark that was built by Noah:
These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood, rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.-Genesis 6:9-16***The precise length of a cubit during the 950 years that Noah lived is not definitively known. However, according to historical standards, a cubit was regarded as the length from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger, approximately 18 inches or 45 centimeters. Thus, the ark that Noah built according to the commands Noah received from the Lord God could have been at least 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high, or a little over 135 meters long, 22.5 meters wide and 13.5 meters high. After the ark was built, Noah was on the ark with his wife, their sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and each son's wife, and a specific amount of every unclean living creature and every clean living creature. No aquatic life was taken aboard the ark. Sometime after Noah, his wife, their sons, and the wives of their sons walked out of the ark and began living upon land again, Arphaxad was born to Shem. Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson was Terah. Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah. Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah. Jacob (Israel) was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, Rebekah's niece, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
