...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Job Description, and He's Not Kiddin'

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.-John 16:7-15***After Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, washed the feet of his disciples, he told the twelve disciples that one of them was going to betray him. Shortly thereafter, Jesus gave a piece of bread to Judas Iscariot  and spoke to him. Judas Iscariot left, and Jesus spoke to the remaining 11 disciples about his upcoming departure. Jesus commanded the disciples to love one another, and Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for them and would come back and receive them. Jesus told the 11 disciples that they would not be alone, that his Father, the Lord God in heaven, would give the disciples another Advocate, another Comforter, the Spirit of truth. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, would teach the disciples and bring to their memories the words they had heard from Jesus. Jesus told the disciples that the Holy Spirit would testify about him, and the disciples were to bear witness of Jesus. Approximately 30 years before the disciples began following Jesus, Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the Israelite tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was circumcised. Approximately 30 years thereafter, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. John the Baptist saw the Holy Spirit descend as a dove and alight upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by many people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts

Drinking, Drank or Drunk

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every man in our tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.-Acts 2:1-13***Over 2,000 years before Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur in southern Mesopotamia. The Lord God appeared to Abraham and told Abraham to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed away from Ur with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah, and nephew Lot. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot moved with their servants and possessions to Canaan. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and to Abraham. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin son Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph, the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, was second-in-command. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and Joseph and his brothers buried Jacob's body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and and his siblings were deadtheir descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants.  Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign over the Israelites. David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd son child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites, including those in the region of Galilee, to Assyria. During the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ was born. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Before Jesus was betrayed, arrested and crucified less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized, he told his disciples that he would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to them, and the Comforter, the Spirit of truth, would guide, teach, remind, and speak to the disciples. After Jesus was buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven, the Holy Spirit arrived.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, 1 Corinthians 15:1-58

I'm a Great Ol' Wealthy Man, I'm so Great and Wealthy

Psalm Chapter 10 consists of 18 verses,
verses 3-11 are given below:

For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor. He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones. He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
-Psalm 10:3-11***The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God wants the wicked to turn from their wicked ways, whether the wicked live amid wealth or poverty or at a level between poverty and wealth. The Lord God wants all men to repent, to turn to the Lord and depend only upon him. Several of the ancestors of the Israelites were wealthy and loved the Lord God. The fortune of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), a friend of God, included servants, silver, gold, animals, and tents. Lot, the nephew of Abraham and his wife Sarah (Sarai),  was wealthy. Isaac, the only child born to Abraham and Sarah, was wealthy. Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel), the fraternal twin sons born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah, were wealthyImmediately before the Israelites, the descendants of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and his wives Leah and Rachel and maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah, and the 12 sons born to Jacob, his wives and maidservants, were led away from Egyptian slavery by Moses and his older brother Aaron, they were given gold, silver, gems, fabrics, and other valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. Over 300 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, David was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. David was a shepherd and became a wealthy king. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. When David was 37 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. While reigning, David acquired so much gold and silver that it was not weighed. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathshebawas the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. The Lord God gave Solomon unparalleled wealth. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin  (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites to Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 70 years after Jerusalem was conquered, Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem. Sometime thereafter, Nehemiah went to Jerusalem and oversaw the building of the wall around Jerusalem and became governor. Nehemiah possessed enough funds to lend money to his fellow Israelites and feed over 150 people regularly from his personal account. Over 400 years after Nehemiah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Less than 33 1/2 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was betrayed, arrested and crucified. Joseph of Arimathea, 1 of the 2 Israelite men who prepared the body of Jesus the Christ for burial, was a wealthy man.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Nehemiah, Psalm 10, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, James 2:1-26

At Last

Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.-John 16:19-33***Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, Jesus began speaking a specific message to the 11 disciples and apostles who were with him before he was arrested and crucified. Jesus told the 11 Israelite men that he would be betrayed, and Simon Peter would deny knowing him, and all of them would desert Jesus. Jesus told the 11 disciples and apostles to love each other and not be troubled over the events about to occur. Jesus spoke of his Father, the Lord God in heaven, and Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Spirit of truth. Jesus did not speak in parables, as he had often previously spoken to them, although some of his conversation was still difficult for the 11 disciples and apostles to understand.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Grateful Living

Psalm 148 consists of 14 verses,
verses 7-14 are given below:

Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.-Psalm 148:7-14

Oh, Yes, It's Ladies' Might

And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still. When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichrin. And he went through all the tribes of Israel unto Abel, and to Beth-maachah, and all the Berites: and they were gathered together, and went also after him. And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down. Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee. And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear. Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter. I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel; why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD? And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy. The matter is not so: but a Asahel man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall. Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.-2 Samuel 20:12-22***Amasa, Joab, Abishai and Asahel were the nephews of David. Amasa was born to David's sister Abigail. Joab, Abishai and Asahel were born to David's sister Zeruiah. Sometime after Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi anointed David to reign as king, and David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul, David killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, and made a covenant with Saul's son Jonathan, and became married to Saul's daughter Michal, and escaped from home to avoid being killed, David's nephews Joab, Abishai and Asahel were with David during the years that David was evading the murderous intentions of Saul. Saul was the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. After the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Abinadab (Ishui) and Malchishua, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of David and his nephews, anointed David, and 30-year-old David began to reign as king only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's cousin and army commander Abner set Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) as king over the other Israelite tribes. In Gibeon, the men following Ishbosheth and Abner fought those led by Joab. Joab and his men defeated Ishbosheth's men. After the fight, Abner unwillingly killed Asahel. Abner eventually stopped his association with Ishbosheth and started working to ensure that David was crowned king over all of the tribes. Sometime thereafter, Joab killed Abner. David pronounced a judgment upon Joab and voiced his concern that Joab and Abishai were too much for him. After Ishbosheth was killed, the Israelite elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David, and 37-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites.  The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that David appointed Joab to serve as army commander, and Joab fought valiantly and was a loyal strategist on the battlefield and amid family matters. While David reigned, Absalom, the son born to David and Maacah, had himself proclaimed king. David, Joab and others immediately left Jerusalem. Before Joab and 2 other commanders and a mass of troops went to battle Absalom's men, David told Joab and the 2 commanders with Joab to treat Absalom gently. Joab and the rest of those on David's side defeated Absalom's troops. Moreover, Joab thrust 3 weapons into Absalom's heart, and Joab's armor-bearers finished the assault. When David was mourning Absalom's death, Joab insisted that David speak to the troops. Shortly thereafter, David appointed Amasa, who had served as army commander during Absalom's short reign, to be army commander. Sheba, from the tribe of Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin, the tribe of Saul and his descendants, started a revolt. The Israelites from the tribe of Judah remained loyal to David. David sent Amasa to gather the men of Judah together, and sent Abishai with troops, including Joab, to capture Sheba. Meanwhile, Joab came across Amasa and killed him, and led the troops on a hunt for Sheba. A woman in the Israelite city wherein Sheba was hiding proved instrumental in saving her city and bringing an end to Sheba's life. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-3:24, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Tell a Fella

And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle. And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy. And they came to the chief priest and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul. Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him. And when Paul's sister son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul. Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him. So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee. Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me? And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee. So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.-Acts 23:10-22***Paul (Saul) was an Israelite and a Pharisee from the  tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Sometime after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, Paul began persecuting and imprisoning any Israelite man or woman who believed Jesus to be the Christ. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind, and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life to Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes.  Initially, Paul was not trusted among his fellow Israelite believers. In Damascus, a group tried to kill Paul, and in Jerusalem another group tried to kill Paul. A few other groups in other places made plans to kill Paul, and a group thought they had successfully stoned Paul to death. In Philippi, Paul and fellow missionary Silas were flogged and imprisoned. In other cities, Paul was whisked away before he could be harmed. When Paul was in Jerusalem again, a group began beating him to death. Roman commander Claudius Lysias came with his troops to the scene and ordered his men to place Paul in chains. Paul addressed the crowd. However, when the crowd became uproarious, Paul was taken into custody and set to be flogged and questioned. While being stretched for the procedure, Paul proclaimed his Roman citizenship, and the next day Paul was brought before the Sanhedrin, the high court of the Israelites. As Paul spoke, he was hit in the mouth and afterwards began to speak. A violent uproar ensued and Paul was taken away. Shortly thereafter, the Lord Jesus appeared and spoke to Paul. Meanwhile, a murderous group developed plans, and Paul's nephew revealed the plans to Paul.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

We Tried to Tell Him

Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan; Even all the Jews returned out of all places whither they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, unto Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much. Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, And said unto him, Dost thou certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay thee? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not. Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, Thou shalt not do this thing: for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael. Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah. Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.-Jeremiah 40:11-41:2***Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of King David and Bathsheba. David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Jehoiakim was the 17th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city. King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, took sacred items from the temple of the Lord and put the items in the temple wherein he worshiped his idol in Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took Jehoiachin, his mother, wives, servants, royal court, troops, aides, craftsmen, prominent citizens, and more treasures from the temple of the Lord to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar left only working class and penniless Israelites in Judah, established Jehoiakim's brother Mattaniah as king, and renamed him Zedekiah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, pursued Zedekiah and his sons as they fled, killed Zedekiah's sons, took out Zedekiah's eyes, burned the temple of the Lord and other buildings, and placed Gedaliah in charge. Ishmael and Johanan, Israelite army commanders, went with a group to speak to Gedaliah. After learning that Ishmael was working with enemy Ammonites, Johanan and his fellow officers went to warn Gedaiah. Gedaliah did not believe them. Johanan tried to give Gedaliah another warning and offered to handle the matter discreetly. However, Gedaliah refused to hear Johanan's words or accept Johanan's help. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of David and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2;23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah, Daniel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

The Bottom Line

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, ond with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.-Mark 12:28-34***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in an idolatrous environment in Ur in southern Mesopotamia when the Lord God appeared to Abraham and told Abraham to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed from Ur to Haran with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot journeyed with their servants and possessions to Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. Decades after Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his entire family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph, the 1st son to born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, was second-in-command. When Jacob was 147 years old, he died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan. Sometime after Jospeh and his siblings were dead, Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was with the Lord God upon Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights, the Israelites told Aaron to make some gods to lead them. Aaron made a golden calf, and the Israelites worshiped and offered sacrifices to the golden calf. In Shittim, the Israelites worshiped the idols that were worshiped by the Moabites. More idolatry occurred among the Israelites after the death of Joshua, Moses' successor. David was from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over a decade after David was born, Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, anointed David to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. When David was 37 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. David was a man after God's own heart and only worshiped the Lord God and led the Israelites to only worship the Lord God. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. Murderers and idolaters always ruled the northern nation of Israel. David's descendants successively ruled Judah, except for the 6-year reign of Athaliah. Less than 200 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 140 years after Samaria was conquered, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary in Bethlehem, approximately 6 miles from Jerusalem, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Shortly after Jesus gave an answer to a scribe, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Meanwhile, the Roman Empire was ruling the land whereupon the kingdoms of the Israelites previously stood.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-25:18, 27:12-23, 31:1-54, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 24:1-33, Judges 1:1-2;23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
