...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Big-Time Plans

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God: But the word of the LORD came to, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight. Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days. He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever. Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee. Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charges concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto. Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.-1 Chronicles 22:7-16***Noah was the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Adam, the 1st man, and Eve, the mother of all living. The Lord God created Adam. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve after taking a part out of Adam. Before the Lord God brought a flood upon the earth, the Lord God gave Noah commands for building an ark. Moses was descended from Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God gave Moses commands for making the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the tabernacle, its furnishings, the garments for the priests, and other sacred items, and the Lord God showed Moses the likeness of the items. David was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. After David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, and began living in the palace built for him by King Hiram of Tyre, David brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to the City of David. The ark had been in the home of Obed-edom for 3 months. Before the ark was in Obed-edom's house, the ark was in the home of Abinadab, in Kirjath-jearim. Before the ark was in Abinadab's house, the ark was captured by the Philistines. David wanted to build a permanent structure wherein to house the ark of the covenant of the Lord. However, the Lord God gave Nathan the prophet a message for David, revealing to David that David's son and successor would build the house for the name of the Lord. Solomon was the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba. David told Solomon that he received understanding, details and the likeness of the building by the hand of the Lord God upon him. Over 900 years after Solomon became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, and built the temple of the Lord, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 15:1-63, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
