...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Oh, No, Not So

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it. And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear. And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.-1 Kings 3:16-22***Joshua, Samuel, Saul, and David were Israelites. Joshua was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Samuel was from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Saul was from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 2nd and last son Benjamin, and David was from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over 300 years after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Samuel anointed Saul to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. After Saul disobeyed the commands of the Lord God, and was still reigning, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David to reign as king. Shortly thereafter, David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul while still working as a shepherd for his father Jesse. After David killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, David stayed in Saul's service full time. Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant with David. In a song, the Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul became afraid of David, and tried to kill David, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal married David and helped David escape from their home. After the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Abinadab and Malchishua, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed David, and 30-year-old David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David, and 37-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Jacob, and to Jacob's father Isaac, and to Isaac's father Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to their descendants. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. When Solomon was asleep in Gibeon, the Lord God appeared to Solomon and told Solomon to make a request. After Solomon responded, the Lord God spoke to Solomon and gave Solomon a wise and discerning heart, unparalleled wisdom and knowledge, riches, wealth, honor, and the possibility of a long life. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Over 900 years after Rehoboam's son Abijam (Abijah) became the 2nd king to rule Judah, and Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
