A Dream Seen

And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about. Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days. And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. And Solomon awoke; and behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.-1 Kings 3:1-15***Gibeon was a city in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin, the family of Israelites descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Saul, the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land, was from the tribe of Benjamin. David was from the tribe of Judah, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. When David was 37 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. In the years before Saul was anointed to reign, the tabernacle was in Shiloh. Sometime during Saul's reign, the tabernacle was placed in Nob. The ark of the covenant of the Lord God was supposed to be in the Most Holy Place in the tabernacle. However, years before Saul reigned, the ark was taken out of the tabernacle and carried to the battlefield, according to an idea suggested by the Israelite elders. The ark was captured by Philistines and eventually placed in the home of Abinadab, an Israelite. When David began to reign, the tabernacle was in Gibeon. Meanwhile, the ark was still in Abinadab's house and had been in Abinadab's home for 2 decades. David went with a multitude of Israelites to get the ark and bring the ark to the City of David.  After an incident, David left the ark in the home of Obed-edom, an Israelite. Three months thereafter, David went with a multitude of Israelites to get the ark. The Levites, including the priests, the descendants of Aaron the Levite, carried the ark from Obed-edom's home, according to the commands that the Lord God gave Aaron and Aaron's younger brother Moses over 350 years earlier. In the City of David, the ark was placed in a specially erected tent. David revealed to Nathan the prophet a desire to build a permanent structure wherein to house the ark. The Lord God gave Nathan a message for David regarding the tabernacle and David's idea to build a house for the Name of the Lord. The Lord God said the house for the Name of the Lord would be built by David's son and successor. Thus, in the 4th year of Solomon's reign, Solomon began building the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, the royal city. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted and was tempted for 40 days. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus revealed  information regarding the actions between Ahimelech the priest and David when David came to the tabernacle at Nob while on the run from Saul.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 3:1-4:49, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 18:1-28, 23:1-24:33, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
