...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Lord God Himself

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.-Exodus 4:10-16***Moses and his older brother Aaron and their older sister Miriam were Israelites from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Although Miriam, Aaron and Moses were siblings, they did not spend years living in the same house. Miriam and Aaron lived with their parents Amram and Jochebed. Moses lived with his family for 3 months. Afterwards, Jochebed placed Moses in a specially prepared ark and set the ark among the vegetation by the river in an effort to save Moses from being tossed into the river. When the daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, saw the ark and the baby inside, she allowed Miriam to find a wet nurse for the baby. Thus, Jochebed was paid to tend to Moses until he was weaned. Moses lived in the palace as the son of Pharaoh's daughter until he was 40 years old and murdered an Egyptian. When the murder was mentioned to Moses, Moses ran from Egypt and began living in Midian. Moses married Zipporah, herded sheep for Zipporah's father, and sons Gershom and Eliezer were born to Moses and Zipporah. When Moses was 80 years old and herding the flock near Mount Horeb, Moses saw a bush that was burning. The angel of the Lord appeared and Moses went to inspect. Moses heard the voice of the Lord God calling to him and Moses spoke to the Lord God. The Lord God sent Moses and Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and to Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and 83-year-old Aaron led the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. When Aaron was 123-year-old, he died and was buried upon Mount Hor. Shortly thereafter, 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-39, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
