A Certain Day

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.-Luke 8:22-25***Jonah (Jonas) the prophet was an Israelite descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah  (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). During the reign of King Jeroboam, the 13th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land, Jonah proclaimed the words of the Lord God. However, when the Lord God commanded Jonah to declare a message to the inhabitants in Nineveh, Assyria, Jonah did not want to obey the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jonah went on a ship to run away from the presence of the Lord God. While Jonah was asleep, the Lord God sent a great wind, and a storm occurred, and destruction of the ship was imminent. None of the others on the ship were Israelites, and none of the others on the ship worshiped the Lord God. While items were being tossed overboard, and cries were being cried to idols, a chief workman aboard the ship went to Jonah and spoke questioningly and determinedly to him. After Jonah was willingly tossed overboard and swallowed by a great fish, Jonah prayed to the Lord God, and the fish vomited Jonah out of its belly, and Jonah heard a command from the Lord God, and obeyed the Lord God, and went to Nineveh, and proclaimed the words of the Lord God. Over 700 years after Jeroboam's son Zachariah (Zechariah) became the 14th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Sometime thereafter, Jesus was in a boat with his disciples, all of whom were Israelites, and other boats were nearby. While Jesus was asleep during the storm that occurred, possibly all of the disciples spoke to Jesus. And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.-Judges 16:1-3***Over 800 years after Laban the Syrian (Aramean) was told by family members that Jacob (Israel) moved with his family away from Laban's property, the Philistines in Gaza were told that Samson was in their city. Samson was an Israelite from the tribe of Dan, descended from Jacob and maidservant Bilhah, and Jacob and Bilhah's firstborn son Dan. Samson had previously married a Philistine woman in Timnath, killed 30 Philistine men in Ashkelon, burned Philistine crops, discovered that the Philistines burned his bride and her father, killed more Philistines, and was taken into custody by Israelites from the tribe of Judah, was freed according to the will of the Lord God, and killed a multitude of Philistines with the bone of a dead donkey's jaw. In Gaza, the Philistines made plans to capture Samson. Over 40 years after Samson died while causing a multitude of Philistines to die, some Israelites from Ziph told King Saul that David was hiding in their region. Saul was the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land, and was from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. David and the Ziphites were descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. At least 1,000 years after Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, and the murder of Saul's son and successor Ishbosheth (Eshbaal), and the beginning of David's reign as the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.
