There Was a Whole Lot of Killing Going On

And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there. And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei. And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon. So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.-Numbers 21:32-35***Moses was 80 years old and his brother Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery and across the divinely parted Red Sea. In the desert wilderness Shur, Moses obeyed the commands of the Lord God, and the bitter waters became drinkable. In the desert wilderness of Sin, the Lord God began to rain down manna, bread from heaven, for the Israelites. In Rephidim, Moses obeyed the commands of the Lord God and the Israelites were able to drink water that came out from a rock. Joshua, Moses' aide from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites to victory over the Amalekites in Rephidim, according to the will of the Lord God. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, the Lord God descended upon Mount Sinai in fire, and the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites.  While Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God 40 days and nights, the Israelites told Aaron to make gods for them, and the Israelites worshiped the golden calf that Aaron made. Israelites from the tribe of Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron, Moses and their older sister Miriam, obeyed the words spoken by Moses and killed approximately 3,000 men. Sometime thereafter, Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu offered strange fire to the Lord God, and fire went out from the Lord God and devoured Nadab and Abihu. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, the Israelites kept the Passover. In Taberah, the fire of the Lord God consumed some of the people on the outer edges of the camp. The Lord God struck with a great plague the people in Kibroth-hattaavah who specifically lusted. In Hazeroth, Miriam became a leper. In the desert wilderness of Paran, Moses sent 12 Israelites, including Joshua and Caleb, as spies to Canaan, the Promised Land. Caleb and Joshua returned from Canaan and spoke faithfully of the Lord God. The other 10 spies proclaimed evil to the Israelites, and those 10 spies died by the plague. Shortly thereafter, Amalekites and Canaanites successfully attacked a group of Israelites, and Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and those with them, were swallowed into the earth, and a fire came out from the Lord God and consumed Korah's 250 supporters. Almost immediately after the 250 died, 14,700 Israelites died in a plague. During the 40-year journey to the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Moreover, in Kadesh, Moses and Aaron did not obey the command of the Lord God. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Before Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried, Israelites died after they were bitten by fiery serpents, and Israelites destroyed Canaanites in Hormah, and killed King Sihon and the Amorites of Heshbon, and killed gigantic King Og, and Og's sons and the inhabitants of Bashan, and killed and captured Midianites and their cohort Balaam, and in Shittim, Israelites were killed by Israelites and 24,000 Israelites were killed in the plague. Joshua was Moses' successor and led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Moses speaks to his fellow Israelites at the end

of their 40-year journey to the Promised Land:

So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, That the LORD spake unto me, saying, Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day: And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession. (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims; A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead: As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day: And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.) Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of thee.-Deuteronomy 2:16-25***The men of war Moses spoke about were the Israelite men 20 years old and older who murmured against the Lord God, specifically those who believed the report about gigantic inhabitants in Canaan, the Promised Land. The Ammonites were the descendants of Ben-ammi, and the Moabites were the descendants of Moab. Ben-ammi and Moab were the sons born to Lot and Lot's daughters. Lot was the nephew of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). The Israelites descended from Abraham and Sarah, their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). The Edomites descended from Jacob's older fraternal twin brother Esau (Edom). The Lord God gave Mount Seir to the Edomites, and the Lord God gave Ar to the Moabites, and the Lord God gave Canaan, the Promised Land, to  Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The  Zamzummims (Rephaim/Rephaites), and the Anakim, the sons of Anak, were gigantic inhabitants in Canaan. The Avims, or Avites, and the Caphtorim, or Caphtorites, were connected to the Philistines. The Philistines were descendants of Mizraim, and Mizraim was born to  Ham, and Ham was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah's son Shem was Abraham and Sarah's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah, and Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Not at All and None at All

A message spoken by Moses to his fellow Israelites

before Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the

Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and

Moses died and was divinely buried, and Joshua,

Moses' aide and successor, led the Israelites

 across the divinely parted Jordan River 

and onto the Promised Land:

Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon. So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many. And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city. But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves. And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon; (Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;) All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. Land, Cities, Borders, and Coasts

And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cites of the country round about. And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, and Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah, and Bethnimrah, and Beth-haran, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.-Numbers 32:33-36

Background Information:

Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades after Esau and Jacob were born, Jacob was married to Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph was second-in-command. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof. And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token: And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. And the men answered her, Our life for your's, if ye utter not this our business. In Padan Aram,  Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. The elders believed the words of the Lord God spoken by Aaron. Pharaoh did not believe and he made the work of the Israelites more difficult. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, into the desert wilderness of Shur, and the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelties asked for and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items the Israelites were commanded to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped and Moses burned and ground. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. In Jahaz, the Israelites defeated King Sihon, the Amorite ruler of Heshbon, and killed everyone in Sihon's kingdom, and took Sihon's land, and at Edrei, the Israelites killed King Og, the gigantic Amorite ruler of Bashan, and killed everyone in Og's kingdom, and captured the 60 cities in Og's empire, according to the commands of the Lord God. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim. After the Lord God spoke to Joshua, and Joshua sent 2 spies to Canaan, and Rahab hid the spies, and the spies returned, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died,  and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative  Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. The Israelites destroyed the Canaanite ruler of Arad, and the Canaanites throughout his kingdom after some Israelites were captured and the Israaelites made a vow to the Lord God. In Jahaz, the Israelites killed King Sihon and all the Amorites throughout his kingdom, and in Jazer (Jaazer) the Israelites expelled all the Amorites from the land, and at Edrei, the Israelites killed gigantic King Og and all the Amorites in his kingdom. When King Balak, ruler of the Moabites, saw that the  Amnorites were destroyed by the Israelites, he sent delegates to fetch Balaam, a known diviner, intending to have Balaam curse the Israelites. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that after 7 altars were built, the Lord God spoke to Balaam, and Balaam obeyed the command of the Lord God, and while Balaam was in Balak's presence, Balaam blessed the Israelites. In Shittim, the Israelites were involved with Moabite women and their idols. Near Canaan, the Israelites killed and captured Midianites, the descendants of Abraham and his 2nd wife Keturah and their son Midian, and the Israelites killed Balaam. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. The Hivites in Gibeon, the Gibeonites, heard about the victories of the Israelites and developed a plan to outwit the Israelites. Over 1,300 years after the 5 kings united to attack Gibeon, and Joshua led the Israelites to victory over the 5 kings and their armies, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
