...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

You'll See

Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men: And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face: And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.-Numbers 16:1-5***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah. Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah. Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by an animal. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, and Egyptian official. After the false accusation made by Potiphar's wife, Potiphar put Joseph in the king's prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of each dream to the imprisoned cup bearer and baker who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, Joseph explained the meaning of 2 dreams to Pharaoh. Afterwards, Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph to be second-in-command in Egypt. During a famine, Jacob sent his sons from Canaan to Egypt to buy grain. After Joseph's brothers made a 2nd trip to Egypt, Joseph revealed his identity to them and told them to move with their families, including Jacob, from Canaan to Egypt. Thus, 130-year-old Jacob began living in Egypt. When Jacob was 147 years old, he died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan. Sometime after 110-years old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, Moses proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, revealing to the Israelites the conditions for them to be the special treasure of the Lord God and be to the Lord God a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. The Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. While the Israelites, and those with them, were still in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God gave Moses the job descriptions for each of the 3 family clans in the tribe of Levi. The 3 Levitical clans were responsible for helping the priests, and each clan was assigned specific duties at the transportable tabernacle. Moses, his siblings and Korah were from the Kohathite clan, descended from Levi's son Kohath. The Kohathites were responsible for properly carrying the holy items, including the ark of the covenant of the Lord, whenever the Israelites journeyed to new locations. The Kohathites were never to touch or peek at the holy items that Aaron and his sons covered and could handle. Moreover, Aaron and his sons were in charge of assigning and supervising the work of the Kohathites. Dathan, Abiram and On were from the tribe of Reuben. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Korah's children were not put to death when Korah and those with him were killed. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 3:1-4:49, 7:1-9, 10:11-21, 16:1-17:13, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 11:1-32, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-8:40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
