How Now Shall It Come About

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course, According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense. And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell on him. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.-Luke 1:5-20***Moses was an Israelite; he was born into the tribe of Levi. However, Moses lived among the Egyptians as the son of the daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After 40-year-old Moses killed an Egyptian, and the murder was mentioned to Moses, Moses left Egypt and began living in Midian. When Moses was 80 years old, and his brother Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to Pharaoh and to the Israelite elders. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, Moses went upon Mount Sinai and was with the Lord God for 40 days and nights. The Lord God described to Moses and showed him the likeness of the ark of the covenant of the Lord and other sacred items the Israelites were to make, and the Lord God gave Moses commands for the new priesthood. Aaron, and his sons and the sons born to their descendants were the only Israelites to serve the Lord God as priests. Aaron was the 1st high priest. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Over 1,300 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and their descendants, Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth) were born into the tribe of Levi. Zechariah was performing his assigned duty as priest, burning incense in the temple of the Lord, when the angel Gabriel appeared by the right side of the altar and gave Zechariah news that Zechariah did not quite understand. Months after John the Baptist was born to Zechariah and Elizabeth, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.-Luke 5:17-20***Approximately 30 years after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,  was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to teach, preach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. People throughout Galilee began speaking of Jesus and his teaching and healing abilities. Jesus taught in their synagogues, and they knew Jesus cast a demon out of a man, and Jesus healed the mother-in-law of Simon Peter, the disciple and apostle of Jesus. When the friends of a paralyzed man were bringing the man to Jesus, the men knew Jesus could heal their friend, and they found a way to get their friend inside the house.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
