Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Unmistaken Identification

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. And there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.-Luke 2:25-38***Judah was the 4th of 6 sons born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Asher was the 2nd and last son born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah. Over 1,800 years after Judah, Asher, their 10 brothers and sister Dinah were born, Anna was born into the tribe of Asher and Simeon was born into an Israelite tribe. Decades after Simeon and Anna were born, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Over 1 month after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Simeon was divinely led to the temple in Jerusalem.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, Exodus 13:1-2, Leviticus 12:1-8, 1 Chronicles 1:1-28,34, 2:1-16, 3:1-24, 7:30-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Technically Speaking

From a letter written by the apostle Paul
 to Timothy:

Honour widows that are widows indeed. But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God. Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless. But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work. But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry; Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. For some are already turned aside after Satan.-1 Timothy 5:3-15***In a divinely inspired message sent to believers in Thessalonica, the apostle Paul (Saul) wrote of men who spend their time being meddlesome and refused to work for a living. Paul explained that believers who worked and adhered to the lessons taught by him and his fellow believers were to avoid associating with men who were idlers and meddlers. In a message Paul sent to Timothy (Timotheus), a believer who accompanied Paul on journeys to preach and teach the good news of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, who had been crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, Paul described the issue of older widows and their care and younger widows and their tendencies.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy

Through with You

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Silvanus (Silas) and Timotheus (Timothy),
to believers in Thessalonica:

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye brethren, be not weary in well doing. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him. that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.-2 Thessalonians 3:6-15***Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Sometime after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus in Syria to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite who believed Jesus to be the Christ. Near Damascus, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life. Paul journeyed to Thessalonica from Philippi, Amphipolis and Apollonia with fellow believer Silas (Silvanus). Some of the Israelites, Gentiles and well established women in Thessalonica believed the words Paul proclaimed about Jesus. Some of the other Israelites did not believe Jesus to be the Christ and were responsible for a riotous uproar. Paul and Silas were sent to Berea. However, before Paul left Thessalonica, the Philippians sent financial support to him, even as Paul was working to provide for himself and working to preach and teach the good news of Jesus the Christ. After the riotous Israelites from Thessalonica arrived in Berea, Paul was sent to AthensThe Thessalonian believers eventually received at least 2 divinely inspired letters from Paul, with greetings from Silvanus and Timotheus (Timothy).-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Not at All

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD. The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness. The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister; for she is thy mother's near kinswoman. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.  Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.-Leviticus 18:1-18***When the Israelites were in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in
the region of Mount Sinai, months after Moses and his older brother Aaron  led them away from Egyptian slaveryacross the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. Immediately thereafter, the Lord God began
giving Moses judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites. Some of the laws involved issues of personal intimacy and were similar
to the relationships of several of their ancestors.

-Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was the husband of Sarah (Sarai), his half sister. Abraham and Sarah's only child, Isaac, was born when Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90.

-Lot was the nephew of Abraham and Sarah. Lot lived with his wife and their family in Sodom before the Lord God destroyed Sodom, Gomorrah and the nearby cities and region. Moab was born to Lot and Lot's oldest daughter. Ben-ammi was born to Lot and Lot's youngest daughter. Moab's descendants the Moabites and Ben-ammi's descendants the Ammonites were enemies of Abraham and Sarah's descendants the Israelites (Hebrews/Jews).

-Jacob (Israel) was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Jacob  unknowingly married Leah and willingly married Leah's younger sister Rachel.

-Reuben was the 1st child born to Jacob and Leah. When Reuben lived with Jacob and the rest of their family in Canaan, he was intimate with Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Bilhah was the mother of Reuben's half brothers Dan and Naphtali, the sons born to Jacob and Bilhah.

-Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. Judah unknowingly engaged in intimacy with his daughter-in-law Tamar. Twin sons Perez and Zerah (Pharez and Zarah) were subsequently born to Judah and Tamar. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, Tamar, Perez, and Zerah are listed in the biblical genealogy of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God.

-Amram was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Amram married Jochebed, his father's sister. Miriam, Aaron and Moses were born to Amram and Jochebed.

Alrighty, then

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philips's wife. For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger. And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother. And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.-Matthew 14:1-12***Sometime after Herod Antipas the tetrarch sent John the Baptist to prison and later commanded the executioner to chop off John's head, Herod heard of the miracles being performed throughout Galilee. Herod wanted to meet Jesus, who was performing the miracles and had chosen and sent 12 disciples and apostles to perform miracles. However, it was not until after Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed, arrested, taken to Annas and to Caiaphas the high priest, and was spat upon, blindfolded, hit, mocked, questioned, taken to Pontius Pilate, flogged, and mockingly dressed, that Herod the tetrarch spoke to Jesus.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-13:52

Which Ones

Psalm 15

LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.-Psalm 15:1-5/the complete psalm***David was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah. Over a decade after David was born, Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, anointed David to reign as king over the Israelites in the Promised Land. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. When David was 37 1/2 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Psalm 15 is widely acknowledged to have been written by David. The psalm reveals that people who shall never be moved from the tabernacle and holy hill of the Lord God are those who fulfill every vow personally spoken, even if fulfilling a particular vow hurts or offers no benefit to the person who spoke the vow. Jephthah the Gileadite was an Israelite from the tribe of Manasseh, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, Joseph and Asenath's firstborn son Manasseh, Manasseh's son Machir, and Machir's son Gilead. Saul was from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Before Saul became the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land, the Israelites were under the leadership of judges. When Jephthah was preparing to battle the Ammonites, Jephthah proclaimed a vow to the Lord God. Afterwards, Jephthah discovered that the vow involved his daughter, his only child. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus 19:1-37, 25:1-55, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, 30:1-16, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Psalm 24, Psalm 66, Ecclesiastes 5:1-20, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

More Plus More Because of the Lord

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Silvanus (Silas) and Timotheus (Timothy),
to believers in Thessalonica:

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.-1 Thessalonians 4:1-8***When Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was preaching, teaching and performing miracles among the Israelites, he revealed that there were 2 chief commandments and in them were summed up the words of the law and the prophets. Jesus said that the Lord God is one Lord God. Each person must love the Lord God with all one's heart, soul, strength, and mind, and each person must love one's neighbor as oneself. Jesus spoke similar words to his disciples shortly before  being betrayed and arrested. Between the time that the disciple and apostle Judas Iscariot left to betray Jesus, and returned, leading an armed group sent from the religious leaders, Jesus gave his disciples the commandment to love each other. Years after Jesus was crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, the apostle Paul (Saul) sent a divinely inspired letter to believers in Thessalonica, and explained that it is the will of the Lord for believers to a live a life of sanctification and neither cause nor lead their brethren into any harm.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus 5:1-19, 7:1-38, 10:1-13:59, 15:1-33, 17:1-16, 20:1-27, 22:1-33, Numbers 19:1-22, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 14:1-29, 23:1-25, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, Ezekiel 36:1-38, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans 1:1-32, 6:1-23, 14:1-23, 1 Corinthians 7:1-40, 2 Corinthians 6:1-18, 12:1-21, Galatians 5:1-26, Ephesians 5:1-33, Colossians 3:1-25, 1 Thessalonians

For the Sake of the Holy Name of the Lord

The Lord God
 and Ezekiel the prophet:

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman. Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers: and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the the heathen. Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.-Ezekiel 36:16-32***The Lord God told Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) that he would give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and to Abraham. When Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that the descendants would be afflicted 400 years in a foreign land before the Lord God would bring judgment upon the land. Afterwards, Abraham's descendants would leave the foreign land with a vast amount of valuable goods and the descendants would live in Canaan. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and his 90-year-old wife Sarah (Sarai). Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. Sometime after Jacob  died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved  in Egypt. Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old, the Lord God spoke to Moses and sent Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get away, with the Israelites and their animals, and go serve the Lord God. The Egyptians gave the Israelites a vast amount of valuable goods. Moses and Aaron led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites gave their gold earrings to Aaron, and Aaron used the gold to make a calf. The Israelites worshiped the calf when Moses was on Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord god showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Over 400 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. Murderers and idolaters always ruled the northern nation of Israel. Judah was successively ruled by descendants of David, Solomon and Rehoboam, except for the 6-year reign of Athaliah. Rehoboam's  grandson King Asa, Asa's son King Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat's great-great-great-grandson King Uzziah (Azariah), Uzziah's son King Jotham, Jotham's grandson King Hezekiah, and Hezekiah's great-grandson King Josiah were Judah's only kings who only worshiped the Lord God and never worshiped idols. Throughout Judah and the northern nation of Israel, places were built for idol worship, and sometimes children were sacrificed to idols, and prophets of the Lord God were killed. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Isralites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. During the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin and his family, and Ezekiel the priest and prophet, to Babylon. In Babylon, Ezekiel received visions and messages from the Lord God. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of David and his descendants, all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 22:1-25:18, 27:12-23, 31:1-54, Deuteronomy 4:1-14:29, 16:21-17:20, 27:1-31:30, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-8:35, 23:1-24:33, Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Who Knows

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Sosthenes,
to believers in Corinth and everywhere:

And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?-1 Corinthians 7:1-16***In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses some judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites. The Lord God revealed the actions and circumstances that would make the Israelites temporarily unclean. The Israelites were told that eating or touching in any way the carcass of an unclean animal, or eating an animal that had been torn by other animals made an Israelite unclean. Women who had recently given birth were unclean. Women experiencing their menstrual flow were unclean, and anyone coming into contact with the personal items an unclean woman touched became unclean. The bodily discharge from a man made the man unclean, and anyone coming into contact with any items the unclean man touched became unclean. Those with an infectious skin disease were unclean, and those who touched a dead body or entered a tent that contained a corpse were unclean. Forty years after leading the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Over 1,400 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned any Israelite who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus in Syria to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus 5:1-19, 11:1-13:59, 15:1-33, 17:1-16, 22:1-33, Numbers 6:1-27, 9:1-23, 19:1-22, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 12:1-32, 15:1-23, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 21 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Which Ones

Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination. Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.-Leviticus 11:42-47***Months after Moses and his older brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God. The Lord God told Moses that the Israelites were to bring an offering and make specific items, and the Lord God described and showed to Moses the likeness of the items. While the Israelites were still camped in the desert wilderness of Sinai in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God told Moses and Aaron the laws regarding clean and unclean food. Throughout their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, while Moses was at the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, the Lord God gave Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. During the 40th year of their journey to the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 1,300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and Jesus went to Galilee. Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Jesus taught his listeners, including his disciples, of the connection between eating, speaking and defilement.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 14:1-21, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-12:25, Romans 14:1-23
