 and Ezekiel the prophet:

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman. Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers: and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the the heathen. Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.-Ezekiel 36:16-32***The Lord God told Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) that he would give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and to Abraham. When Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that the descendants would be afflicted 400 years in a foreign land before the Lord God would bring judgment upon the land. Afterwards, Abraham's descendants would leave the foreign land with a vast amount of valuable goods and the descendants would live in Canaan. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and his 90-year-old wife Sarah (Sarai). Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. When Isaac was 60 years old, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. Sometime after Jacob  died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved  in Egypt. Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old, the Lord God spoke to Moses and sent Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get away, with the Israelites and their animals, and go serve the Lord God. The Egyptians gave the Israelites a vast amount of valuable goods. Moses and Aaron led the Israelites away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites gave their gold earrings to Aaron, and Aaron used the gold to make a calf. The Israelites worshiped the calf when Moses was on Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord god showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Over 400 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. Murderers and idolaters always ruled the northern nation of Israel. Judah was successively ruled by descendants of David, Solomon and Rehoboam, except for the 6-year reign of Athaliah. Rehoboam's  grandson King Asa, Asa's son King Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat's great-great-great-grandson King Uzziah (Azariah), Uzziah's son King Jotham, Jotham's grandson King Hezekiah, and Hezekiah's great-grandson King Josiah were Judah's only kings who only worshiped the Lord God and never worshiped idols. Throughout Judah and the northern nation of Israel, places were built for idol worship, and sometimes children were sacrificed to idols, and prophets of the Lord God were killed. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Isralites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. During the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin and his family, and Ezekiel the priest and prophet, to Babylon. In Babylon, Ezekiel received visions and messages from the Lord God. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
