...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Yes or No

Events that occurred after

And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him. And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? And many other things blasphemously spake they against him. And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am. And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.-Luke 22:63-71

Reference Scriptures:
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?-Matthew 16:13

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.-Mark 16:19

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, here Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.-Colossians 3:1

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.-Hebrews 12:1-2

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:-1 Peter 3:18...Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.-1 Peter 3:22

Anyone, Anyone

From the Epistle of James,
in the New Testament of the Holy Bible:

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.-James 3:13-18***Years after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven, James was divinely inspired to write a letter to Israelite believers dispersed throughout the world. The identity of James is not definitively revealed in the letter. However, the writer of the Epistle of James is widely regarded to be the same James who lived in the family household in Nazareth in Galilee with Jesus, Joseph and Mary. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Joses (Joseph), Simon, Judas (Juda), and their unnamed sisters also lived in the family home in Nazareth. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Galatians 1:1-2:21, James, Jude

Him too and Them too

After King David and his fellow Israelites defeated
the Ammonites at Rabbah,  the Israelites, including
David's nephew Jonathan and mighty men Sibbechai
(Sibbecai) and Elhanan, defeated groups of Philistines

And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued. And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam. And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant. But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him. These were born unto the giant in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.-1 Chronicles 20:4-8

Reference Scriptures:
And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.-1 Samuel 17:4...Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me  with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.-1 Samuel 17:45...And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.-1 Samuel 17:49

And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant. And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Beth-lehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant. And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.-2 Samuel 21:18-21

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.-Matthew 1:1...And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;-Matthew 1:6...And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.-Matthew 1:16

And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,-Luke 3:23...Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,-Luke 3:31...Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.-Luke 3:38

Instructions Against Destruction

The Words of

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth: and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shal your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and canst into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as as one having authority, and not as the scribes.-Matthew 7:1-29

slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea,
and into the desert wilderness of Shur:

 Leviticus Chapter 19,
 verses 19-37

Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.-Leviticus 19:19

And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.-Leviticus 19:20

And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.-Leviticus 19:23
But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.-Leviticus 19:24
And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.-Leviticus 19:25

Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.-Leviticus 19:26

Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.-Leviticus 19:27

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.-Leviticus 19:28

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.-Leviticus 19:30

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.-Leviticus 19:31

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.-Leviticus 19:32

And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.-Leviticus 19:33

But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.-Leviticus 19:34

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.-Leviticus 19:35

Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.-Leviticus 19:36

Nothing at All

The Words of
 Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.-Mark 4:21-25***Approximately 30 years after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. The Lord God Himself

Psalm 132

LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions: How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob; Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob. Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood. We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool. Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength. Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy. For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed. The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore. For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.-Psalm 132:1-18/the complete psalm***When Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living with his family in an idolatrous environment in Ur in southern Mesopotamia, the Lord God told Abraham to leave his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham moved away with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot, and lived in Haran in northern Mesopotamia. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot moved with their servants and possessions to Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and to Abraham. When Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would be afflicted in a foreign land before the descendants would come out of the land with great possessions and begin living throughout Canaan. Sometime after Abraham and Sarah's only child Isaac began living with his wife Rebekah in Gerar in Canaan, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 60 years old, Isaac and Rebekah's only children, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born. When Isaac was elderly and his eyesight was dim, Rebekah led Jacob into deceiving Isaac and cheating Esau. Afterwards, Rebekah led Isaac into sending Jacob on a mission to Haran. During the journey, Jacob was sleeping and dreaming in Luz (Bethel) in Canaan when the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. Over 300 years after Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian, Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle and the sacred items, including the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that the Israelites were to make. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. Shortly thereafter, Moses spoke to the Israelites about the commandments, judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave to him, and sometimes to Aaron, for the Israelites. Moses told the Israelites that they were only to bring their offerings, sacrifices, tithes, and vows to the specific place that the Lord God would choose in the Promised Land. Over 300 years after Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. While reigning, David went with a multitude of Israelites to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the home of Abinadab, in Kirjath-jearim in the Promised Land, wherein the ark of the covenant had been placed 20 years earlier. After Uzzah touched the ark of the covenant, and the Lord God smote Uzzah and Uzzah died, the ark of the covenant was placed in the home of Obed-edom. Three months thereafter, David and a multitude of Israelites brought the ark of the covenant from Obed-edom's home to a specific tent in the City of David. Eventually, David wanted to build a permanent structure. David spoke to Nathan the prophet, and the Lord God spoke to Nathan, and Nathan spoke to David, and David spoke to the Lord God. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon built the temple of the Lord, according to the commands of the Lord God and according to the writing that David received from the hand of the Lord God upon him. Afterwards, the ark of the covenant was taken from the tent in the City of David and put inside the Most Holy Place within the temple. After Solomon offered sacrifices and prayed to the Lord God, the Lord God spoke to Solomon and proclaimed the temple to be the place chosen and sanctified by the Lord God. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

The words spoken by King David to his fellow
Israelites before Solomon, the 2nd child born
to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king
to reign over all of the Israelites in the
Promised Land, and 70-year-old David died:

And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem. Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood. Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever:  for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day. Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.-1 Chronicles 28:1-10

Reference Scriptures:
And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess: And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital; And the sixth, Ithream, by Eglah David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.-2 Samuel 3:2-5

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David. And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon. Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia, And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.-2 Samuel 5:13-16

Now these were the sons of David, which were born unto him in Hebron; the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess: The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith: The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife. These six were born unto him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years. And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bath-shua the daughter of Ammiel: Ibhar also, and Elishama, and Eliphelet, and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine. These were all the sons of David, beside the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.-1 Chronicles 3:1-9

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.-1 Chronicles 17:1

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God: But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight. Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days. He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.-1 Chronicles 22:7-10
