...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Which One

And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.-Luke 14:25-35***Over 1,000 years  before Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was speaking to his listeners about the cost of being his disciple, King Saul became the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land. When Saul was in pursuit of David, the Israelite men under Saul's authority refused to kill the priests Saul ordered them to kill. King Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. Jezebel, Ahab's wife, was an idol worshiping Sidonian (Zidonian) princess. After Jezebel commanded that the prophets of the Lord God be killed, Obadiah safely hid and kept alive 100 prophets of the Lord God and provided the prophets with food and water. David's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Ahaziah was the 6th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. After Ahaziah was dead, his mother Athaliah, Ahab's daughter, began to rule Judah and commanded the deaths of her royal descendants. Jehosheba (Jehoshabeath) was Ahaziah's sister and the wife of Jehoiada the priest. Jehosheba secretly rescued Ahaziah's son Joash (Jehoash) from Athaliah's murderous plans, and Joash was hidden in the temple of the Lord 6 years before being presented, crowned and anointed as the rightful ruler of Judah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that at least 33 1/2 years before Jesus was teaching the disciples, Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
