Against Me Are Ye

When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him;) then Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds; that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. And he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine. Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king. And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord. And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house? Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more. And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father's house. And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD. And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod. And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children, and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.-1 Samuel 22:6-19***Isaac was born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. The Lord God gave the Mount Seir region to the Edomites, and the Lord God gave Canaan, the Promised Land, to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants the Israelites. Over 300 years after Levi was born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, Aaron and his brother Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, and across the divinely parted Red Sea and into the desert wilderness. When the Israelites were in a region near the Edomites, the Lord God told Moses that the Israelites were not to provoke the Edomites, who would be fearful of the Israelites. During the 40th year of their journey, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land. Over 300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelite elders demanded that a king be set over them. The Lord God sent Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, to anoint Saul to reign. Saul was from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Thus, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, to reign as king. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. Sometime after David was anointed, David began working as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. After David killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, Saul's son Jonathan entered into a covenant with David, and Saul sent David on military missions. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul. David's successes and Saul's jealousy led Saul to try to kill David, and have David killed on missions, and order Jonathan and the servants to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal was David's wife. Michal helped David escape from their home. The 1st person David spoke to after leaving Michal and their home was Samuel. The 2nd person was Jonathan, and the 3rd person was Ahimelech the priest. Ahimelech questioned David and believed David's story of being on a secret mission for Saul. After more questions, Ahimelech gave David the consecrated showbread and gave David Goliath's sword, as witnessed by Doeg the Edomite. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. Shortly thereafter, Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites.
